BLOOD WITCH (Witches of Etlantium book 2)

"Worthy Successor to Atkinson's Water Witch." CM Truxler

Save 35% by purchasing this book in box set

Sarum is under siege and a recovering Alaysha finds herself at the heart of a covert war where even the enemy is unknown. Whether it's the father she has spent nineteen years killing for, the witch of flame who promises to teach her control, or the charismatic Yenic who claims to love her, she must ultimately decide who to trust. If only that trust didn't come at such a high price.

Blood Witch is book two in the Witches of Etlantium series, a new adult fantasy series for women of all ages, but recommended for those over seventeen. There's a good bit of intrigue, a smidgen of magic, and of course, some steamy romance.

If you're a new adult paranormal romance reader or a lover of women's fiction where kickass heroines inhabit worlds of sword and sorcery fantasy romance, and if you dig fiction where female warriors become female heroes in a series that blends teen paranormal romance with just the right amount of romantic adventure, this series might offer you a delightful few hours' enjoyment.

The full Witches of Etlantium series of stories from shorts to novels in suggested reading order is:

* Seeds of the Soul (prequel short story)
* Water Witch : Witches of Etlantium Book 1
* Theron's Tale (a novella)
* Sons of Alkaia (a novella)
* Blood Witch Witches of Etlantium Book 2
* Bone Witch : Witches of Etlantium Book 3
* Breath Witch: Witches of Etlantium Book 4

4.0 out of 5 stars Blood Witch Worthy Successor to Atkinson's Water Witch September 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Those who read Thea Atkinson's precursor novel, Water Witch, will not be disappointed by this, the next installment in the "Witch" series. However, if anyone has been under the impression that he or she knows each character and what or who those characters embody, such a person would be sadly mistaken. There are plenty of surprises in this novel.

The main character, Alaysha, is constantly changing and developing, which mimics the existence of true-life beings. Yenic, Alaysha's would-be love interest, is still a mystery to readers, but he is not the only character who, like Alaysha, is as much as secrecy-imbibed as the wind. Each character is a complex and relatable being with tantalizing backgrounds of his, or her, own.

The plot is well-honed and keeps the reader's interest throughout the novel; so much so in fact, that by the conclusion of the work, one thirsts for more of the tale. Viewed as a fly on the proverbial wall, each subtle nuance of Alaysha's life and experiences come to the reader as matters of fact untouched by a fictional hand. Atkinson's continuing path through Alaysha's world is one on which readers will gladly accompany her. The mysteries are an added bonus that will keep each coming back for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Read January 16, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Book 2 in the series was just as captivating,as book 1, Alaysha, discovers more about who she is, and from where she came from as a most unlikely character in the book proves to be someone who has the answers to her puzzle. Torn between her feelings for two different loves she struggles to discover which one is telling her the truth or just wants to own and manipulate her.

For the first time in her life she is free of the cruelty served up by a father who only wanted to use her, but must be careful not to let herself fall into the arms of the wrong person, as she continues her quest to discover just what it is that the Fire Witch is up to, will she be strong enough to fight the Fire Witch if it comes down to a fight, will she be able to control her thirst, that has only ever brought death and destruction and use it to fight the Fire Witch should the war come, and where are the other elemental witches that have been hidden? Will she discover that the Earth Witch, is in plain sight? I can't wait to see where Ms. Atkinson , takes the story next, she leaves you thrusting for more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it January 17, 2013

Awesome read! I have been scouring Kindle Books for a new fantasy series that can keep my attention and this one definitely did. It is also a breath of fresh air to read a fantasy story mainly from a female perspective and feeling real female emotions toward family, lovers, etc. It doesn't take long to get attached to each of the characters and the end of Blood Witch kept me wanting more. I can't wait till Bone Witch! This was my first read by Thea Atkinson and I can see her becoming a pretty big deal in fantasy writing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good sequel May 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I was excited to read this sequel because I had enjoyed the first book in the "Elemental Magic" series so much. The second book continues the story of Alaysha as she tries to explore who she is and where she came from. As with the first book, this one is full of twists and turns and ends with a cliffhanger that will make you want to rush out and buy book 3. This is a great new fantasy series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Even better January 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Second in the series, this book continues with Alaysha trying to find out more about herself and her roots. The characters are more developed and the world that Thea Atkinson has created is very original. Couldn't wait to get my hands on the next! I definitely recommend this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Find! November 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I picked up the first of these books out of boredom awaiting something new from my favorite authors, I read it and saw there were more...what the heck, I still need stuff to read. This book grabbed me right away, I was unable to put it down for too long. As the story is unfolding, I am captured by the story of these witches. I will read them and go back and read the others by this author. I have found another FAVORITE author!
