This is THE boutique reggae label. So far out of a dozen or so releases, they have unearthed only the best lost vinyl gems. They then digitally remaster the original analog tapes/dub plates for your ears delight. A scribe often fills a photo packed booklet with info so you have something to read while your head spins along with the CD. Did I mention that this collection right now is absolutely FREE. It is just a few clicks and some one finger typing away.

Some interesting Reggae music here - certainly worth the FREE price tag. Ghetto Funk is more jazz than reggae, performed by an old-time reggae performer, Boris Gardner. No More War is a talking song with a low-volume reggae beat in the background, supporting what the title says. A surprising entry for a sampler, as it is really a political statement and not a piece of music. But the others are pleasant enough reggae songs - I can never have enough reggae in my library. Surprisingly, a few of the songs have the "info" tabs greyed out inside of iTunes, so that the genre can't be changed from the given "International" genre to "Reggae". I don't know what that is about. I've not seen that before. So, I can't get these into any of my Reggae playlists based on genre. That is a bummer. Oh well, they'll show up in my "everyday playlist", but still not where I want them in my library. Overall Four Stars.

Well, what can i say? Blood & Fire come through again with a wonderful sampler of their artists, free to you and I no less. B & F reissues are solid in my book. If you enjoy roots reggae, stop reading this and start downloading. Come back later for the Pressure Sounds" DL sampler as well.

It's OK - but I don't think it's reggae,

Not very danceable. Not very interesting musically. Politically oriented lyrics in many cases. Somehow just basically bored me. You might like it better than I did, though. It's just not at all what I think of as reggae (which is what the other reviewer said it was) - it's more like boring, angry pop. I liked the Cumbancha collection MUCH better - far better musically, IMO.
