Bloodhound Gang is awesome, but...,
By AlainaPoncho (NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bloodhound Gang: One Fierce Beer Run (DVD)
Okay, so I just got this DVD cause I'm a big fan of Bloodhound Gang (haha, they have awesome songs and their music videos are mad funny)...but...
It's way too gross. I really wouldn't recommend it for anyone under like 13. Actually, it's probably rated R so um...maybe 18. It's worse than any other band video I've seen, so it may not be that great for kids. It's worth it for the music videos, because it has a lot of them and they're good quality (just as good as MTV without the censoring or popups in the corner), but other than that, the rest of the footage is like home videos and most of it's them doing gross things (like eating an ice cream cone covered in bugs), or nudity. It would probably resemble a porno if it wasn't during the music video parts and someone else walked in the room and asked you what you were watching. At least most of the time. Other than that, the DVD's still worth it for a true fan, because it has a lot of their videos (including ones I hadn't seen before). "Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny", "I Wish I Was Queer So I Could Get Chicks", "Why Is Everybody Always Pickin' On Me?", "Your Only Friends Are Make-Believe" and "Fire Water Burn" are all the music videos on the DVD. The music videos are a lot better quality than all the other footage which looks like a home video. It's worth it for the music videos.

Vile, disgusting, questionable content - this is fantastic,

There's nothing remotely sane, safe, or tasteful about this DVD. It's a venereal wart of a release, rife with backstage debauchery that will horrify the pre-pubescent fans that know the band only by "The Bad Touch." And yet, like a grisly car accident, it's impossible not to watch. You'll think, "they can't possibly treat a groupie worse than that," (see: Evil Jared, throughout) or "they can't possibly do something more ridiculously foul than that" (see: the video for "I Wish I Was Queer So I Could Get Chicks"), or "Spanky didn't really let them do that just now, did he?" (see: anytime the hapless drummer is on screen). And then, they'll demonstrate that the previous act was but the tip of the iceberg (or Evil Jared's uh, "manhood" as the case may be). They've officially raised - or lowered, depending on one's perspective - the bar for every band's future home video endeavors. Shockingly, appallingly, I expect every kid that sees this will be inspired to start their own band immediately thereafter.

A little disturbing...,
By Veronica Gibson (Usa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bloodhound Gang: One Fierce Beer Run (DVD)
Well, I'm a huge bloodhoundgang and I love Jimmy Pop. When I purchased the dvd, I was not expecting something quite so disturbing. There was quite a bit of male genital contact. I found it a bit of a turn on myself. lol. There was also a lot of Spanky abuse. I think that that's just terrible. You hear his high pitched screams as Jimmy sticks his finger deep into his bandmates bootay. Then forces him to smell it and he wretches. At the end ( i dont want to give it away.) but something is done to Spanky where if he had sued, the bloodhoundgang would have been in jail writin their next song. Other than that, the movie is pretty cool. tHE sound is terrible and the camera was a regular recording camera. nothing special so dont expect prefect picture quality. This should also be seen by mature viewers only.

GOOD DVD, BUT DISAPPOINTING TOO,
By "bradleystp" (Nassau, NY) - See all my reviews

This DVD has a lot of interesting stories and band "interaction", but no live performances? The sound isn't great, which I understand, because it was done on a regular camcorder. But their videos should have sounded better than they do. This a a good DVD, especially for their big fans, but a casual listener might be disappointed, and disgusted, by this video.

This shows the bloodhound gang at their best, or worse depending on how one looks at it. If your easily offended you'll probably not want to watch this. But if you have a nice warped sense of humor you'll definitely want to pick it up. Also included are some music videos, one of them being the video for the song "I wish I was queer so I could get chicks", which is not often seen anywhere, and makes the whole disc worth buying if your a big fan.

Disappointing,

I can understand that the in between stuff was filmed with a handheld so the quality is not the greatest, but what is up with the audio and video quality of the music videos? The video looks like I'm watching a bad recording off of MTV and the audio sounds like I'm in a tin can. This is especially disappointing since I'm a fan of these guys. I was hoping this would have more than like 5 of their videos too; missing are their two greatest videos (Ballad of Chasey Lane and Mope). Just download their vids from Kazaa...saves you money and the audio quality is much better.

They play shows, right?,
By Jason Randall (Macclenny, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bloodhound Gang: One Fierce Beer Run (DVD)
The Bloodhound Gang, notoriously known for their rough brand of tongue in cheek humor, and a smorgasbord of overly intelligent references in their lyrics, have release a home video chronicle of their One Fierce Beer Coaster tour back in '97.Though there were some great scenes involving an argument between Evil Jared Hasselhoff (bassist) and DJ Q-Ball (DJ), as well as music videos for the low budget (at the time) rock stars, all in all, I was fairly disappointed that there were rarely any onstage performances or backstage hijinx. It was an hour on a bus with a whole bunch of guys hanging out. These guys, while heterosexual in their claims, have the distinct necessity to rub their members on each other, remove stage-hands clothing, and even took the torch one step further by quite literally trying to burn their own scrotums. Man, what a fun ride. I can't wait to see 'Horray for Groupies' when it is marketing, but I think I'll let someone tell me about it before ordering it immediately.

On tour with the most clever band in the world,
By Brandon (kelowna, British Columbia Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bloodhound Gang: One Fierce Beer Run (DVD)
I must admit that I was initially nervous about watching One Fierce Beer Run. Other reviewers said that a majority of the content was very disturbing. Although it is certainly not G-rated, One Fierce Beer Run was not all that disturbing. There is a fair amount of nudity, which shouldn't be a problem if you look down in the shower. I get the feeling that a lot of people who were disturbed by One Fierce Beer Run are underage or overly sensitive. Nonetheless, the music videos shown were absolutely golden. Whenever it shows the band members arguing is hilarious. And when Evil Jared inquires their roadie about his sexuality.... well this is just priceless. By the end, you really feel like you know Jimmy Pop, Evil Jared, and Spanky quite well. The only complaint I have is that it would have been nice if the DVD focused a bit more on DJ Q-Ball and Lupus, as they're hardly on screen. My complaints aside, this was a captivating and hilarious DVD. Stongly recomended!

on the run...,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bloodhound Gang: One Fierce Beer Run (DVD)
this is one of the first music dvd's i got and is one of my favorites. i really liked this dvd because it shows the band true color and what they're all about. it contains the uncensored version of the videos kiss me where it smells funny, fire water burn, i wish i was queer so i could get chicks, why's everybody alway's pickin' on me?, and your only friends are make believe. this dvd is hillarious but contains highly too many scenes of male nudity. and the dvd was recorded with an orginal hand held camcorder, so it does not have the best sound quality, but this dvd is well worth the price, go buy it!
