Buckle your seat belt,
By
This review is from: Bloodhound (Paperback)
I must say that after a brief hiatus from reading, I decided to pick this book up, and I am so glad I did. Never having the pleasure of reading Jay's work before, I plunged into the world of a new, for me, writer.
Very nice book! Charlotte is psychic; her hands have the electric power to locate people when she grips one of their possessions. Unimaginable things happened when she touches a coin, provided by the missing man's girlfriend as Charlotte plunges into dangerous worlds, and instead of running away she runs head into the storm of what she unleashed with her special gift. Very brave character, lovable sidekick, and plenty of supernatural sparks that kept my sitting up in my bed at night reading, or missing my buss stop on my way to work, simply because I was so engrossed in the story. This book has a very rewarding ending. It's like being hungry for a century and then being presented with a heavenly feast. I think anyone who picks this up, will be up for a nice ride, just don't forget to go to work......this book IS engrossing.

Bonansinga grips and thrills better than anyone,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bloodhound (Paperback)
Jay Bonansinga writes with the mastery of King, the hair-raising thrill of Saul and the intensity of Ridley Pearson. Bloodhound rivets you through a mind field that will stay with you long after you're done. Brilliant.

torture of Junior too explicit,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bloodhound (Paperback)
I found the book to be a real page-turner until I got to the parts where Junior was tortured. I found it to be too explicit and uneccessary. The story would have been just fine without the details of the torture of Junior. These parts ruined the book for me. It could have be a 4 or 5 star book if not for this.

A good thriller,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bloodhound (Paperback)
Psychic Charlotte Vickers has assisted the police on many cases involving missing people. Charlotte typically focuses her talent by touching the palms of someone who wants a reading and by holding onto an object of the missing person. Both methods connect her to the mind of the missing person. A desperate Natalie Fortunato awakens Charlotte praying the psychic can locate her lover Paul last seen about a year ago. Charlotte links with Paul and learns he lives in Colorado with a wife and two children. After Natalie extracts more specific detail from Charlotte, she departs. Charlotte has second thoughts about her visitor because she feels her newest client did not appear lovesick in any way. Instead she seems more of an avenging angel. Natalie more is the daughter of a Mafia Don seeking the individual who turned state's evidence that sent her father to prison. Charlotte concludes that Natalie wants Paul and his family dead and the Don's daughter has the thugs capable of accomplishing the deed. She intends to find Paul and warn him. BLOODHOUND is an exciting thriller that uses paranormal elements to propel the plot forward. Charlotte is a complex character who loves and hates her gift. Her morality demands she takes responsibility for the consequences of her power. The chase and its aftermath into the heart of the Witness Protection Program will leave readers reeling and desiring more works by the talented Jay Bonansinga. Harriet Klausner

Disappointing,
By CapricornGirl "Jam" (South Africa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bloodhound (Paperback)
While the synopsis of this title sounds extremely interesting - alas the book itself is a huge disappointment. The style of writing is very amateurish and the portrayal of the bad guys was unbelievable. As for the 'little ladies', 'little gals', etc. - well I too felt like losing my lunch. Give this one a miss.Is there any reason why you don't introduce a '0' star-rating? |
