good general book for the beginner
I knew Hylda Owen and had purchased a bloodhound from her. The book does not give the reader the wealth of experience that could be drawn from Hylda by talking to her, but it is very informative. She does give a nice view of the bloodhound and this would be a good book to have in your collection.

Basic dog book with bloodhound info.
I have kept dogs for many years and was looking for an in-depth bloodhound reference book. Unfortunately this is not the book. It is very basic in nature, only has a small section that is bloodhound specific and is mostly a "how to care for any dog" book.

This is a generic dog book disguised as a bloodhound book. Out of 192 pages, only 30 pages are about the bloodhound breed. I was very disappointed.
