Good Story - Bad Writing,
This review is from: Bloodlove (Paperback)
I'm about half way through the book and I'm quite enjoying the storyline. The problem is that the writing is horrible. How this woman ever got published is beyond me. The writing reminds me of how horrible a writer I was in high school. If you can overlook the amateurish writing then you might enjoy this book. Just be prepared to roll your eyes quite a bit.

Even in the darkest places,
By Brendan (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bloodlove (Paperback)
Sandy McKeever's Bloodlove is powerful in its promise, combining a torrid love story with with witchcraft and the ancient vampire legends.Walk with Miranda Pritchett, an escapee of the Salem insanity, stowing away on a ship bound for unknown lands. Her arrival on an uncharted, hidden island, kept by arcane arts far from the prying eyes of mortal man, will set into motion events that will not only change the lives of all on the island, but will test to shattering lengths the strength and tenacity of her beating heart. Only for love will the damned walk fearlessly in the Halls of the Dead, only the pure in spirit can be cursed, yet refuse to serve the evil they are accused of worshipping. In a darkened castle in the dead of night, the sharpest thorns of the black rose adorn beauty, power, and a love that cannot be chained, cannot be denied..and in the end will lead her to sacrifice, soul freezing terror, and the promise of redemption. Miranda Pritchett, stowaway, outsider, accused witch sentenced to be hanged, is destined to shake the walls of Heaven, and restore to her beloved the one thing the legends say will eternally be denied him. Hope. |
