Bloodroom is not the typical vampire novel. It is a very romantic, sexy and seductive novel. What it isn't, is Lost Boys. That was a wild, thrill after thrill romp of vampiric punks. Bloodroom is a romantic love story. It is high class. It describes a section of society that I have never experienced. People who get all dolled up every night to go to dinner. Bloodroom is more of a Moulin Rouge type of story. I liked Moulin Rouge and I liked Bloodroom.

Nothing new or exciting in this one. It's a run-of-the-mill genre novel. Not very enticing or frightening. Setting detail is superfluous and distracting. The erotic scenes seem obligatory and forced. I didn't feel anything for the characters-good or bad. I'm guessing from the ending there will be a sequel. I, for one, won't be returning for Bloodroom II.
