truly sickening, disturbing and terrifying, one of the best thrillers I ever read!,

This review is from: Bloodrush (Paperback)
I found this in a second hand bookstore in London, it is a really ripe almost pungent Southern Gothic piece of pulp noir fiction about a crazed serial killer at work in a poor white and black trash town in the Deep South. Eschewing the tedium of current modern day political correctness found in so many crime writers today, the story has some genuinely nightmarish murders including a grizzly sexual element which occurs in the final horrific scenes where the hero's girlfriend is tied naked to the bed and sexually mutilated in front of him.
It is no-holds-barred for sure. The killer's identity is kept quite well hidden to the end but the theme of twisted redemption will stay with you for a long time. It should have been filmed and I am surprised it hasn't. For sure it is strong stuff and heady stuff too. But a real pulp classic and burns its way into your memory like nothing else I have ever read |
