Review
Doucet's album
Blood's Too Rich sounds to me as if it comes straight out of 1977 Doucet is a terrific guitarist, as fluid and melodic as Mark Knopfler back in the day; but he's a proper songwriter too. --Nick Hornby, NY Times Blog
Product Description
With its bluesy riffs and 1970s style artwork,
Blood's Too Rich harkens back to Doucet's days fronting surf-noir trio Veal and to his youth spent admiring Neil Young, Howlin' Wolf and Stray Cats. The album also retells his tales of living at the heart of Country - Nashville, TN - where he wrote the record in early 2007. The album also introduces The White Falcon, the infamous white Gretsch and band.
Blood's Too Rich won Contemporary Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Also available on LP.
