Book Description

Book Two of the Stacy Justice Series has more magic, more mystery and more twists and turns than your average amusement park.

A long-lost sister.
A missing mother.
And murder.

All Stacy Justice wants to
do is recover from the bizarre couple of weeks she's had--a whirlwind kicked off
by the arson attack on her cousin's bar, the Black Opal. But just when life
should be settling down, a fourteen-year-old girl named Ivy appears on Stacy's
doorstep, claiming to be her sister. Ivy says their mother's life is in danger
and insists that the family's magic is crucial to saving her. Sure, Ivy has
Stacy's fiery red hair and green eyes--but is she really her sister? And can the secretive teen be trusted with
magic?

Then a man is found dead at
Stacy's grandmother's bed-and-breakfast, and she has no choice but to see where
Ivy's story leads. Strange warnings appear at every turn, including the
disappearance of the family's Blessed Book, and it seems someone is out to kill
Stacy--again.

Picking up where Opal
Fire
left off, the second book in the spellbinding Stacy Justice series dazzles
with even more magic, mystery, and mayhem--revealing the dark secrets of the
Geraghty clan.
Author's Note: It is highly recommended that you read the first book in the series, OPAL FIRE before reading BLOODSTONE.
  • OPAL FIRE, Stacy Justice Book One. How far would you go to keep a secret?
  • BLOODSTONE, Stacy Justice Book Two. What if your whole life was a lie?
  • TIGER'S EYE, Stacy Justice Book Three. This time, it's personal. December 2012

Editorial Reviews

Review

  • Bending the Spine
"The Stacy Justice series is spellbinding fun! Bloodstone bewitched me from the beginning and I did not want to put it down."

  • My Guilty Obsession Book Blog
"Can I just say for the record that I love this series? It has quickly become one of my favorite new series. It has a little bit of everything in it that I love to read about, witches, a mystery, a little romance, some witty fabulous one liners, a loveable goofy dog side kick, amazing characters.Annino is a very talented writer that has a way of pulling you into the story and into the characters lives and not only caring about them but falling in love with them. This book had me laughing out loud numerous times throughout. I really enjoyed the first book Opal Fire but this one was even better."
  • Housewife Blues and Chihauhau Stories Review
"There is one word to be used to accurately describe this romp, FUN. From the beginning of the story the reader is thrust into the deliciously zany mayhem which makes up Stacy's anything but ordinary life. Filled with bits and pieces of contemporary references the story takes readers on a roller coaster ride of emotions from sheer disbelief to total hysterical laughter and even a few tears at what is revealed. There is nothing quite like revisiting Amethyst and the Geraghty girls, you will never be the same once you do!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Sequel! October 22, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Bloodstone, the second book in the Stacy Justice Mystery Series, begins right where the first book left off. I highly recommend reading the first book in the series in order to understand the previous sequence of events and understand the family dynamics. However, it does start off with the last scene from the first book, which is a great refresher, not that I needed it. Even though it has been a while since I read the first book, the surprise ending really stuck with me! The pace is fast, mysteries and secrets abound, and it is both suspenseful and hilarious at the same time! The situations Stacy manages to get herself into are so funny and she is quite resourceful and quick thinking. I loved the excerpts from Ivy's journal! I am very glad about who Stacy eventually chose to be with and I can't wait for the third book! Love this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this second book December 9, 2011

I love the second Stacy Justice book. The first book was good and I recommend reading it before reading the second, but this second book was just better. I also like how we readers finally know what happened to Stacy's mother and hope we will get more on that in the next installment of the series. Easy read and definately worth the price.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, predictable at best... good effort May 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book was an entertaining read but i wouldn't buy it. Stacy was truly "sassy" but sass gets old after a while. The whole book is mainly her constant internal and external smart ass dialog. I laughed a lot but it doesn't make for a good story. All the conversation in the book consisted of one line sarcasm and insults thrown back an forth between the characters and left little of the story told. The characters are flat, you know very little of them. Leo is her boyfriend? Really? They have 3 conversations, they are never together and other than cheeky dialog you have no idea how she feels about him. There are too many character who just appear with little connection to the main story. Stacy is very imature, self absorbed and disrespectful. You would have no idea she was speaking to anyone of authority; the coroner, her boss, the mayor, the police cheif...she talks to all of them as if they were all her younger brother. Many of the scenarios are not believable - full access to the morgue, dragging a dog through a hospital... Breaks in the book are akward. One sentence she is here, the next she is somewhere completely different with different people. That should be another paragraph at least possible another chapter. Once i read the author's bio it all made sense. As a reporter you can get an detailed physical discription, manner of speaking, personal details but that is all. Just a black an white photograph with a caption and a short article. Overall, the author needs to tighten up her writing, the style is ok.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute! March 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Bloodstone sucked me in just as fast as the first. Barbra Annino continued the perfect mix of humor, suspense, and mystery in this one. I don't want to give out any spoilers, but the only thing I didn't like was her choice of beau...as charming as he is, I still see Stacy with the other one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud paranormal series January 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a fun series, not too heavy, a quick read and I was laughing out loud reading it. I could not put it down. If you are looking for a romance, this is not it, but if you want a fun, wittybook, this is for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yes, I liked it! January 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I picked this up right after reading Opal Fire. Opal Fire was on a whim based on recommendations and reading reviews of said recommendations. Of course, I'm still giggling at the bat guano, the Gaherty Girls, Warrior Girl, and Monique in this second installment. Cin was not in this story as much, but we did get to see a little more of Chance and Grandma Birdie. Additionally, there was a little more of a twist in this compared to that within Opal Fire.

Of course, I'm not sure how much I would want to hang around Stacy...or maybe I would just refuse to lend her my car.

So, I enjoyed the second installment of Stacy Justice, and I'll read more when the next one arrives. Of course, I'm still pulling for Leo.

So, if you liked Thor, Cinnamon, and everyone in Opal Fire, I think you'll enjoy them in Bloodstone.

Nathan and confusion run a muck in this installment of the series. A new major character is introduced and Stacy learns more of her past. I really enjoyed the book. It was hard to put down. Delightful.
