Love's Insecticide is NOT DDT,

This review is from: Bloodsucker (Audio CD)
This mini-album is well worth the price for the wry "Love's Insecticide" and the doric, quiet, and heartbreaking "Please Have Everything." Since you cannot buy Scrawl's "He's Drunk" or "Plus, Also, Too," this is a good direction for your otherwise worthless cash. Just because. Because I said so. Because consumerism's only reward is manifesting spiritual want. Because RiotGrrl forgot its history. Because wretched March weather goes on FOREVER in central Ohio. Because memories of flirting with the girl with freckles at the smoky bar would fill your eyes with tears of regret, too, if you had them. Damn.

One track makes it worth the 10 clams,

Although not the strongest Scrawl albumn, I think it is deserving in any collection, because of "Love's Insecticide," a pop song that stings. And if yer into girls covering girl's songs, that was a cover even before that, well... look no further.

Love the Cover of Paula Abdul's Cold Hearted Snake,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bloodsucker (Audio CD)
There's plenty here for the Scrawl fan to enjoy. They come off aurally as three spririted gals with a lyricist-singer, Marcy Mays, possessing a great sense of humor, a midwestern accented singing voice, and songwriting talent. The female drummer left the group after this album and a male drummer, Dana Marshall, joined the group successive albums which have a tighter, more musically sophisticated sound. The group's early sloppy sound and their later sound both have merits.
