Product Description

In the second of Georgia Evans' supernatural trilogy, Gloria Prewitt must reveal her greatest secret to have any hope of saving the people she loves. . .

As the district nurse for a country village outside London, Gloria has the respect of the town and the satisfaction of helping those who need it most. She'd lose both if anyone discovered that she turns into a furry red fox and runs through the Surrey hills by moonlight. But what she sees on those wild nights suggests Brytewood is under attack--from a saboteur with superhuman powers and the force of the Nazi Luftwaffe behind him.

What can one werefox do against a predator with devastating weapons at his command--and the strength of the undead besides? What can a woman with a secret reveal without losing all she has? With the help of a couple of Devonshire Pixies, a Welsh dragon, and two men too stubborn to admit they're outnumbered, Gloria might just find out the answers. . .

4.0 out of 5 stars Bloody Awful is Bloody Great!, August 17, 2009
This review is from: Bloody Awful (Paperback)
Bloody Awful is the second in Georgia Evan's fantasy trilogy.
Set in 1940, the residents of the village of Brytewood in Surrey are coping the best way they can. Dealing with a possible invasion of the German army, bombings, black out conditions, food rationing and a village full of evacuees would be hard enough for any community to deal with but Brytewood is dealing with something even more ominous. Spies have infiltrated their village and to make matters worse, some are vampires!
What will they do and how can they possibly defeat such vicious foes? Ah, fear not, the residents of Brytewood have a few secret weapons of their own. A couple of Devon Pixies, a weredragon, a witch and now Nurse Prewitt.
District Nurse, Gloria Prewitt has a secret of her own. She is a werefox. Most of the time that doesn't pose a problem since she is single and only has to change at the full moon, but when she meets the handsome Andrew Barron, Supervisor of the secret munitions plant, things become more complicated. As they get to know each other, how can she keep her secret from him? Could she bear to tell him and possibly lose his love?
As the threat of violence increases, the villagers will reveal their secrets and rally together to fight. But can a couple of Devon pixies, a weredragon, a witch and a werefox and a few trusted friends defeat the vampires that threaten them?
Be sure and grab both Bloody Good and Bloody Awful, the first and second of the trilogy. You won't want to miss a word of this wonderful series and will be waiting with baited breath for Bloody Right coming out in August 2009.

4.0 out of 5 stars BLOODY AWFUL is bloody great!, August 10, 2009
This review is from: Bloody Awful (Paperback)
BLOODY AWFUL is the second in a trilogy of books by Georgia Evans, set in 1940's England. Not only do the villagers of Brytewood, a deliciously charming community, have to fear German bombs, food shortages and the fate of loved ones in battle, but now there are vampires in their midst! The new village baker is suspiciously unfamiliar with traditional baked goods and that is not all that is wrong with him!
District nurse Gloria Prewitt is competent and clever and changes into fox every full moon. She falls for Andrew Barron but how can she tell him of her monthly midnight forays into the country side on four legs and a red fox coat? What would she do if he turned from her? What would happen if others in the village discovered her secret?
Georgia Evans blends a tale of humor, heat and history in this sequel to BLOODY GOOD. I loved Gloria for her wit and her warmth and her kind heart. I loved being part of the villagers' struggles against the German attacks and I loved how certain among them, Others, revealed themselves to Gloria and each other when they joined together to hunt down the vampire before he play his part in the Nazis' nefarious scheme to bring down Great Britain from within.
I can't wait to read BLOODY RIGHT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloody Good, August 2, 2009
This review is from: Bloody Awful (Paperback)
In 1940 in a small English village, everything looks normal and serene on the surface when they are not being hit by German air bombs. However, many of the local inhabitants are Others including red were-fox district nurse Gloria Prewitt, pixies Alice Doyle and her grandma, Welsh shapeshifting dragon Howarth Pendragon and several who refuse to come out into the open because of fear of deadly retaliation in spite of the BLOODY RIGHT of freedom. Alice was instrumental in preventing a German vampiric saboteur from blowing up a secret nearby munitions plant.

Another German vampire William Block has come to Surrey with the same mission as his late comrade. Gloria is the first to notice the new arrival and his Nazi Luftwaffe support; she tells the others who make plans to dispatch the newcomer to the same hell they sent his predecessor to. The enemy almost kills Alice who tries her magic against this Undead while a furious Gloria vows to stake this fiend who threatens her lover.

BLOODY AWFUL is not an apt title descriptor as the tale is BLOODY GOOD. The super fast-paced historical fantasy story line is filled with stunning revelations and unexpected twists yet most significant enables the audience to believe in were-shifters, pixies and oh my vampires. Her friends and her lover need to protect her although Gloria is a terrific heroine who gains confidence in her paranormal skills as she battles otherworldly saboteurs. Georgia Evans avoids the middle book lack of a deep plot with this strong entry of a mousy fox who learns to roar like a lioness who believes she is BLOODY RIGHT (next tale) while battling a vampire.

More About the Author

Georgia Evans is the pseudonym I use for my Fantasy books. I'm better known as Rosemary Laurey.

The Brytewood books are a different venture from my Paranormal Romance and this series is very special to me as I grew up in the Mole Valley - the setting for my imaginary village - and some of my earliest childhood memories are of seeing the damage wrought on the area by the Blitz, and listening to stories from my mother, grandmother, aunts and older cousins on how they coped with rationing, bombs, the blackout and shortages of all sorts.

These books are a testament to the hundreds of thousands of women who struggled, did without, and made do under dire conditions and survived the war and to those who didn't.
