Not only is this movie highly entertaining and well acted, but it features a teenage Robert DeNiro as the glue sniffing son of Shelly Winters. Great performances from all the cast. The story is exciting and succeeds in portraying an engaging psychological profile of this very bizarre family.

Despite this film being low budget and "trashy" for it's loose portrayal of the Barker gang, I found Bloody Mama to be a fascinating movie with many more pros than cons. The cast has a great time with the material and having a young DeNiro in a colorful role is a big plus. To be honest, I had never seen this film before, but after seeing it I found it to be as interesting as the critically acclaimed 'Bonnie and Clyde'! 'Bloody Mama budget was probably less than 10% of Dunaway's or Beatty's salary in Bonnie and Clyde and it holds up really well.

Good News for those who are not aware, this film is available on DVD with some other lesser known Corman films in an excellent DVD set entitled Roger Cormon Collection. If you're been looking for a good copy of this film on DVD, take a look at it here on Amazon. I caught this film on MGMHD and it looked great in HD...maybe a Blu Ray release is around the corner?

This movie is as exciting to watch now as it was 40 years ago. Non-stop action and great acting from a+ actors. It shows desperation in times of great need. It is a bit hard to find movie and I wish it was on DVD. Nether the less I got it at a great price 2months ago. I see that it is 20.00 more in price today.
