Editorial Reviews

The terrifying legend of Trevor Moorehouse, a masked figure who wields a chainsaw instead of a left hand, is behind this frightening game of Hide and Seek played on the first night of camp every year. But this year, and underlying sense of terror is lurking in the minds of the campers and counselors. And thrills by a campfire soon turn into the counselors' worst nightmares as they begin to disappear, one by one, blood-curdling screams and the roar of a chainsaw are the only sounds in the isolated woods and the remaining counselors must scramble to solve the mystery before becoming the killer's next victim.

Fun low-budget movie November 6, 2000
By A Customer
Format:DVD
I've seen this movie twice... the first time I was somewhat disappointed with it, as like some of the other reviewers, I thought there wasn't enough gore, tension, and scary moments.

Strangely enough, I really had fun watching it a second time, and here's why: instead of watching it as a horror / slasher flick, I watched it as more of a murder mystery... who is the killer? What is his / her / their motivation? In my opinion, the best moments of this movie are when various characters run through their various hypotheses regarding the killer and motive. The screenplay was well-crafted, so at any time the killer may be any one of a number of characters. Some of the dialog between characters is quite amusing.

So if you look at the cover, and think

hockey mask + chainsaw = gore, gore, gore

you'll undoubtedly be disappointed. But if you keep an open mind and play along trying to figure out the killer and motive, you should enjoy the flick. The soundtrack to the movie is excellent, considering that this movie had to be super low budget. The actors also do a nice job.

I LOVED IT!!! December 2, 2002
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
This movie is absolutly one of the funniest horror movies ever! Okay so I jumped in two parts, but I haven't had this much fun in a movie since The Evil Dead II! This is great, and yes it does rip-off Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but still this movie is enjoyable, and I don't see why these "die-hard" horror fans don't like it. Come on loosen up, these people know they are in a bad film, so they don't dry to take it seriously. 5 STARS Definately!!!

I know, I know....the cover looks cool...a dude with a hockey mask and a chainsaw, but the movie sucks big time. I saw the cover to the movie in the video store and i said to my self "This movie looks like it would be pretty good"...please don't make the same mistake I did. I also thought there would be alot of gore in it, but there is hardly any, you would think a guy with a chainsaw would leave a little gore behind....wrong!!! I mean the guy only has the chainsaw one friggin time!! The movie is so bad, you are embarrassed when you watch it. Only rent this movie if you want to see how awful a movie can be.

0 STARS: Bloody awful if you ask me.
"Bloody Murder" is a bloody awful attempt at a slasher flick. This is a generic and formulaic attempt at an artificial slasher flick if I've ever seen one. Read more
