I've read "Billionaires, Bullets, and Exploding monkeys", "Seattle on Ice", and his latest installment "Bloody Pulp". I've enjoyed Mr. Attebery's writing style and his ability to give life to characters without sacrificing the pace of the storyline. It's my honest opinion that this latest Brick Ransom novel is his best yet. He's the perfect author to read when you want to escape from the hassle of everyday life.

Having read Attebery's other Brick Ransom books I knew what to expect going in to this one. Ransom remains a very likable character but seems to have matured in this latest adventure. He's not as clumsy this time around and actually performs normal police work while still obsessing over gourmet cuisine. The story moves at a fast pace and is very easy to get through in a few hours, can't wait til the next one.

I'm a fan of Seattle fiction, and have read all of Mike Attebery's Brick Ransom books. I managed to finish this one in a matter of hours, and am certain it's his best yet. Brick is a little older, a little wiser, and better fleshed out. He's a believable stud-turned-gourmand, and if he's a bit off his game it only makes him more likeable. I expected a good, fun read but was pleasantly surprised by the talented narrative and believable dialogue.

Speaking of the weather, in Attebery's Seattle, exciting things happen during inclement weather. Forget what you've been told about crime rates rising along with the mercury; in the last two Brick Ransom books the snow has been the backdrop for murderous impulses. I read this during a stretch of nasty November rain and found myself itching for some snow and excitement of my own!

This third Brick Ransom book is definitely my favorite in the series! The author has now begun to feel a comraderie with his protagonist and is writing with a free and easy style which makes for a fun and enjoyable read. I really like Brick's quirks and feel this series and character are poised to take off. By the way, each of these books are stand-alone novels and can be read in any order.

I love the title of Attebery's latest Brick Ransom book. But then I'm a fan of clever doubles entendres. BP continues in the style and tradition of his earlier Ransom books. He does a fine job evoking Seattle and its attitudes and environments in fairly short, action-packed, popping thrillers that are never dull. They're like literary amuses bouches that can be savored in one or two delicious bites.
There's been a murder. Ransom is once again pulled away from his culinary endeavors to find the culprit. As usual, the pursuit takes him through many Seattle neighborhoods and landmarks. On his quest, Ransom unexpectedly finds love when he meets his match on a blind date arranged by a friend. Does he get the culprit in typical spectacular fashion? Well, Bloody Pulp is bloody pulp...so you can figure it out. Or better yet, do yourself a favor and read it yourself.
Attebery doesn't disappoint. And the Ransom stories are maturing like a fine vintage red wine.

Brick Ransom is a refreshing character. The scenes where he is anxious about his dating life were hilariously human. The characters were altogether believable. The mystery itself isn't heavyweight, but it is entertaining. For those of us who enjoy reading about Seattle, it has enough detail to allow us to visualize the locations and enjoy the ambiance. This is the second Brick Ransom I've read, and I will catch up with what I've missed. Very enjoyable reading.

Nicely written, characters were well drawn, about to go back and read "Seattle Ice" now. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Pretty good mystery but I knew about half way in how it would end. It was easy to read and I did enjoy it.
