This is a fun game because there are two styles of play within the actual game. When you are fighting there are two levels that your fighter can fight at, first there is human mode which is like any other ordinary fighting game. However, there is also "Beast Mode" which allows the player to fight at a more intense level.

I remember when I first played this game and how at the time the PS1 was long over. I was watching a friend play Metroid prime and just being amazed at how pretty the game looked. I then looked at Bloody Roar II and laughed. I finally sat down though and gave the game a whirl. The game is a fighter that I just do not understand why it is not loved more. The combat and moves are all amazing. The graphics haven't ages to bad and I had no problem playing the game for a lengthy period of time. It is a shame the series is dead today and they overcomplicated the other installments with unneeded changes. This game though will always be a favorite of mine and one of the best fighters I have played.

Bloody Roar II: The New Breed - Circa 1999
GOOD: - Nicely Balanced old school PS1 3D fighter - Beast change really brings something new and unique to the table BAD: - Graphics are dated, for today's generation - Somewhat small staple of fighters IF IT FITS YOUR TASTE: - Playing a Tekken/Virtual Fighter rip off where the fighters can transform into animals - Has some old school "dial-in-combos" GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO: - Virtual Fighter 3 - Tekken 3 - Soul Blade ADDITIONAL NOTES: - Bloody Roar II has almost every thing from Bloody Roar (the original) except for three fighters, besides that Bloody Roar II has everything the original had and then some - Later Bloody Roars such as Bloody Roar 3 and 4, where not as Balanced as this one but the graphics were better

This was a really fun game because it has a less powerful human mode and a more powerful, beast mode, which also puts more power in to your attacks, and you have more attacks overall. I also liked Bloody Roar 2 because of the amount of attacks each player has. And it has different modes, like vs, where you can fight a friend, and things like story mode, survival, and arcade.

My favorite fighting game. I like the way you can pound your opponents to a pulp, or how there are two plateaus of fighting human or beast. It has great graphics and has a great story mode. It's a fighting game must have.
