4.0 out of 5 stars Missing a Great CD, February 10, 2002
By
This review is from: Bloom (Audio CD)
Two years ago I found this CD on one of the players @ the now defunct HMV (miss the store). There was something about it that me wondering why I was buying it.

Well, I was moving into my first apartment and I was buying an area rug @ ABC Carpet on B'Way when started playing the album on my portable player. I fell in love with "Face The Waves". I played it over and over while I searched for the perfect rug. The more I heard it, the more I couldn't get away from it. I found the rug and regularly played the cd whenever I wanted to feel comfortable being home.

Sadly, I lost the cd when some animal broke into my car and stole my cd's (Portishead, JBs Funky People, Adam F, Roni Size to name a few). Just about all of those can be easily replaced - "Bloom "is turning out to be a bit harder.

I've moved about for the past few years and have finally settled into a new place to live. Got the carpet rolled out,but I can't feel happy that Bronagh's voice isn't being played over my stereo in my new home. Its hard to consider dropping the cash on this - but I will if needed.

This album is that good.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING ALBUM, October 22, 2004
This review is from: Bloom (Audio CD)
Bronagh Slevin has a wonderful voice, and the lyrics are incredible as well. Although the entire CD is awesome, my faves are "Life as One" and "Flame". If you can find a copy of this CD, buy it and share it with others! In Fleabay you will find a few singles from the album, but the entire CD is a rare find indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A White Elephant, July 27, 2001

A dj friend of mine in Spain gave me a burned copy of this rare and very difficult to find disk about two years ago. Upon the first listen, I fell in love. For those of you listening to the likes of Morcheeba, Portishead, or old Pastel remixes by Kid Loco this is a must have. The sensual voice of Slevin and the downtempo beats of crustation create an immaculate sound. Perfect cd for the first time you invite over that girl you've always wanted to....well you know. Fire up the candles and start up Bloom.
