Janis Mann is simply stated -- one of the best singers in jazz. She has it all-- a fantastic instrument, great time and an intimate connection to what the lyric of the song is saying. On the heels of her last astounding CD-- her tribute to great drummers, this CD only ups the ante. Some of the highlights for me are "Old Black Magic" taken at a deliciously fast clip -- and the definitive version of "Slow Hot Wind"-- great backup from Grammy winning Bill Cunliffe and Christian Luty and Roy McCurdy. Janis Mann will truly Blow you away!

Well I never thought that janis Mann could get any better but this new CD has proved me wrong. I absolutely love every cut on the CD and play it often. Everytime Janis does another CD it's my favorite-She never disappoints.
