Fantastic interpretations!,
By John (Indiana, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blowin' In The Wind: A Reggae Tribute To Bob Dylan (Audio CD)
Fans of the reggae Dead tributes will be more than pleased with this--others will be surprised. All the tracks are good, but several stand out. Silvio, Mighty Quinn, Times A-Changin' are all great. As always, the incomparable Judy Mowatt delivers a stunning, intense (but far from flashy) Knockin'. But the one that will floor you is the near-acapella reinterpretation of Mr. Tambourine Man. A kind of masterpiece, delivered by some women calling themselves The Fourth Street Sisters. Only complaint--not enough information on the artists and band.

Well done,

Excellent choice for reggae venue. Both genres will appreciate the delivery. We are Dylan fans from the beginning in the 60's. If you don't think his lyrics apply to this particular style, you haven't listened all these years.

How can ayone claim to enjoy reggae or Dylan and not love this record. The artists connect to this material more than any other recent covers i have heard. If u dont get chills listening to Judy Mowatt's "Knockin on Heavens Door" or Fourth Streets Sisters's accapella "Mr TamborineMan" check your pulse.
