5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic interpretations!
Fans of the reggae Dead tributes will be more than pleased with this--others will be surprised. All the tracks are good, but several stand out. Silvio, Mighty Quinn, Times A-Changin' are all great. As always, the incomparable Judy Mowatt delivers a stunning, intense (but far from flashy) Knockin'. But the one that will floor you is the near-acapella reinterpretation...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad
I love Bob Dylan and I love reggae, and I love Bob Dylan covered by reggae bands. That being said this is only an ok album. The songs just do not have the true reggae feel to them. In fact they do not have the true Bob Dylan feel either. It is an ok album but only if you can get it for cheap ($5 or $6). If you are looking for a good Bob Dylan reggae CD then check out "Is...

As always, the incomparable Judy Mowatt delivers a stunning, intense (but far from flashy) Knockin'. But the one that will floor you is the near-acapella reinterpretation of Mr. Tambourine Man. A kind of masterpiece, delivered by some women calling themselves The Fourth Street Sisters. Only complaint--not enough information on the artists and band.

Excellent choice for reggae venue. Both genres will appreciate the delivery. We are Dylan fans from the beginning in the 60's. If you don't think his lyrics apply to this particular style, you haven't listened all these years.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best in the series, March 15, 2004

How can ayone claim to enjoy reggae or Dylan and not love this record. The artists connect to this material more than any other recent covers i have heard. If u dont get chills listening to Judy Mowatt's "Knockin on Heavens Door" or Fourth Streets Sisters's accapella "Mr TamborineMan" check your pulse.

How can you go wrong with a tribute album of Dylan songs done by reggae artists......You can't. dylan fans will truely appreciate the reggae treatments of these well known songs and reggae fans will love the basic reggae beats put to great lyrics....INteresting stuff here that makes for great outdoor barbque music during mthe lazy nights of summer!

i've been listening to reggae my whole life. I bought this because the title seemed interesting. I like Bob Dylan too. THIS CD SUX!
My girlfriend uses it as a coaster next to the t.v. I can't believe music companies would put something like this on the market. First of all, the artists sound bored. I almost fell asleep listening to it also. The production is piss poor too. Do yourself a favor, save your money and don't be a sucker like I did.

First. The production sounds terrible. Second. The music sounds even worse. It has a very slick production sound that lends itself to bubble gum sort of music. Not Reggae. I thought it was a joke at first but it is not. We resold it after we bought it.

This review is from: Blowin' In The Wind: A Reggae Tribute To Bob Dylan (Audio CD)
I love reggae and Bob Dylan, This song cd has no emotion and dosent capture Bob's rythm and spirit. I just bought the cd today but i bet that it'll sound good after I get drunk.
