I had never heard of "BluTrack" a couple of months ago, but when my soon to be 4yo son informed me he wanted a "race car party", I started researching the best tracks out there to race Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars on. I fully expected to buy a run-of-the mill Hot Wheels track at Toys R Us, but when I asked some veteran moms about their top picks, they pointed me towards BluTrack instead. It seemed like a lot of money to drop on a pretty simplistic looking toy, but I have to say, it has been a huge hit with both my kid & my hubby. Like the previous poster, it was a little "bumpy" coming out of the box, but we had no problem softening it up. It worked fine as is in the house, but when I moved it outside for the big race car party, the sun warmed it up and it got plenty smooth.

At our party, the track was a hit again with both the kids & their dads. I foresee getting a lot of use out of it, especially as my son gets older and can come up with different configurations on his own.

As far as the actual track is concerned, I love it. Me and my 2.5yo have had quite a bit of fun creating loops, hills, and tunnels (out of legos).

You basically get a single 18' long track made of durable plastic. It ingeniously comes with a suction cup that I have hung about 48" off the ground to provide the potential energy that allows the cars to negotiate the course. I think it also comes with some velcro to fasten the track in place to the ground, but I did not find this necessary.

I was going to give this 3 stars, but I have had too much fun with it.

The reason I have a problem with this track is the price. Luckily I had a $25 gift certificate that brought my price down to around $16 with shipping. This, and probably no track, is worth $35. I think a more suitable price would be $20 at most. Its just a piece of plastic. Unfortunately, I looked around and could not find any better/cheaper alternatives other than "used" at ebay.

This is such a fun toy! We got this for my three year old for Christmas, and he and his daddy have had so much fun setting it up in different arrangements, from across the living room, to down the stairs! Loads of fun. It's very durable, but easy to lay out, and the cars race down it with almost no resistance. It works great!
