5.0 out of 5 stars ECONOMY got you down? Get BLUE AGAIN and Wash Those Blues Away!, March 17, 2009

Nothing comes close to revisiting the early Fleetwood Mac years than by hearing this album right from the founder himself! The rocky/blues vibe is outstanding. They must have used 100 mic feeds to get such a clear crisp recording Live. Actually sounds better to me than most current "studio" albums.

There's a historical book full of photos and the whole story celebrating 40 years of the Fleetwood Mac history that is one more reason to GET THE CD not a download. Nothing like turning the pages and seeing the photos! Mick actually hand wrote two pages as the intro. Fantastic work - even the tray of the CD has a cool shot of the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band in it.

Rick Vito - a former Fleetwood Mac member - delivers the real stuff on guitar and vocals. Highly evocative of the original Peter Green era - with many of Peters songs covered on this album. But it's the new stuff that gets me most excited - Vito wrote a bunch of great material for this album. The only other band members are listed as Lenny Castellanos on bass and Mark Johnstone on Keys. I think both sing too. Not easy to be a bass guy for Mick Fleetwood and Lenny did killer great. Mark seems to just tie it all together and give the oldies a new life with the Keys which weren't in the original Mac songs. Totally refreshing!!! Looking at the internet you can see the European version actually charted in England and Germany last winter - and hearing this album tells me why.

If you like to feel good - tap your feet and dig rock and the blues - this is a MUST HAVE RECORD!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Rockin 2 hands up!!, March 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Blue Again! [Amazon Exclusive] (MP3 Download)
If you like rockin Blues, ya gatta get this one. The drums are of course fabulous. The drums are Big Phat, Sic n Badd in the mix. I have been telling people that ask me who is the best drummer around and I say Mick Fleetwood is King. He lays down what is needed and he allows skipped spaces to become a poignant part of his rythym statement. Mick Fleetwood has an incredible gift of finding the rythymic pocket and nailin it down, playing on top of it. and then in and out of it. All at the same time, without sound disjointed. Truly worthy of a college level exploration rhythmically and musically too as the guitars are truly unique but at the same time nailing down the minor pentatonic trance of some of the tunes. No Bad Tunes!!!

One of the other reviewers suggested getting the Audio CD for the pictures and liner notes. From a content standpoint I think this work is worthy of the CD purchase as well if you like that kind of visuals. It would be cool it we could download the mp3 and then throw down a couple of bucks and getting the liner notes too. maybe someday
So get it and share it with the heathen
