5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Star read highly recommended, April 26, 2011
This review is from: Blue Angel (Paperback)
An edgy, contemporary erotic novel that I just did not want to put down! Wow! I had no idea what to expect from a book about burlesque, though I knew it would be racy. (The cover was a dead giveaway ;-) Sexual subject matter includes exhibitionism, M/F M/M F/F F/M/F and voyeurism.

Mallory Dale is finally living the life she's dreamed about since college, working at a prestigious law firm and living with her boyfriend Alec. While doing research for an article about burlesque, Alec brings Mallory to a live show. Burlesque dancer Bette Noir takes an immediate interest in Mallory.

*************************SPOILER ALERT! Seriously, you've been warned ****************

Alec is an adventures soul who constantly pushes Mallory beyond the bounds of comfort in the bedroom. Or the back of a taxi, or a public lavatory, ect. His current fetish includes engaging in a three-way with Bette of the smoking hot dance routines. Mallory is not entirely on board with this idea, but she wants to make Alec happy. Unfortunately, the side effect is making her miserable. Mallory keeps asking herself the age old question red blooded females have ponder since the advent of manage. Why am I not enough for him?

In a total one eight Mallory ends up going to bed with Bette without Alec, who is then shocked and appalled by his behavior. I could totally understand her shock, after all, he'd been not so subtly foisting this woman on her pretty much from page one and the poetic justice was beyond awesome.

The rest of the book details, Mallory's growth, her sexuality comes alive as she is lured even deeper into the world of Burlesque. She loves Alec but can she forgive him for blurring the line of their committed relationship, and can he forgive her for her one night stand? The sheer intricacies of the costumes and movements are captivating and alluring. Would love to see this made into a movie. Or perhaps an HBO series, like True Blood.

The secondary characters are also well rounded and complex. Another dancer, Poppy, has quite the adventure with a spoiled married couple that really enjoy their kink.

Overall, a fantastic read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Logan Belle is a Must Read Debut Author!, August 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Blue Angel (Paperback)
Granted, Mallory and Alec's relationship could use a dose of excitement, but when Alec takes the straight laced Mallory to a burlesque club for her birthday, she's not sure how to react. By the time the night is over, Mallory, an ex ballet dancer, is drawn into the steamy world of burlesque like a moth to a flame. As her flirtation with a starring burlesque performer intensifies, her sagging relationship with Alec is tested in ways that surprise them both. Her choice to dance publicly brings her career as a lawyer to a screeching halt.

I love how Logan Belle pushes the boundaries of traditional romance tropes without shattering them. While at times the hero, Alec, comes off as self-centered, Belle's portrayal of Alec as flawed lends a gritty realism to the story's denoument. By the time the story ends, Alex grows as much as Mallory--necessarily so if their relationship is to survive.

Logan's protrayal of the Burlesque culture is compelling and beautifully rendered. Her characterizations are sometimes harshly drawn, which can frustrate the reader at times, but she does a fantastic job of redeeming Alec and Mallory as a couple by the story's end, as well as offering hope that this couple can withstand even the hardest tests of their commitment to one another.

The heat level is scorching and a lesbian fling provides much of the tension that forces Alec and Mallory to grow together as a couple.

A fabulous, red-hot read--I can hardly wait for Ms. Belle's next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars impressive in many ways, June 11, 2011
This review is from: Blue Angel (Paperback)
Unlike so many erotic novels, "Blue Angel" is actually very well written. The sexual scenes are very explicit and plentiful (no need to flip through the pages to find them, they are there in each chapter!), with a little bit of something for everyone, gay, straight, or ambivalent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy book not for the faint of heart., November 23, 2011
This review is from: Blue Angel (Paperback)
Now everyone knows I am a huge fan of erotica books. But wow this book took it above and beyond. This is the first book I've ever read about Burlesque Clubs. I have to say I'm an adult and never been inside one and this book have definitely made curious in wanting to pay a visit to one. Only visit, I don't ever see myself performing in one like the main character did in this book.

So in Blue Angel, you have your main character whose name is Mallory and her boyfriend, and he takes her to a burlesque club for her birthday. Now in my opinion, I would think this is more for him than her. But this one visit has change Mallory's whole life without her knowing. Blue Angel's star Bette Noir pulls Mallory from the audience and kind of has her way with her. Basically she had Mallory stripped down to her undies on stage in front of the whole club. But rather than Mallory feeling shy or a bit embarrassed, she loved it. And this opened her appetite up to trying it again. Lucky for her Bette offered to become her private tutor, her mentor. All who else to learn from, than from the best performer of Blue Angel. But what will become of her life if she chooses this path as a career? Will she move on with everything she has, or will she love herself into it?

I really enjoyed this book. It showed basically behind the scene of being a performer in a burlesque club. The thing about this book as I read it, I envisioned everything so vividly in my mind. It was like a movie going on in my head. If you're looking for an intense erotica romance. Then this is definitely the book for you. I recommend this book to those who aren't shy about reading extremely sexual acts.

This book makes me want to see that movie with Cher and Christina called "Burlesque". Maybe get my sexy back. I'm kidding I never lost it. LOL. I give this book a 5 stars, for the real life drama and for the intense sex scenes. If you're into erotica books. Then this book is definitely a "Sinfully Tasty Read" you have get your hands on.

5.0 out of 5 stars amusing yet also serious erotic tale, April 30, 2011
This review is from: Blue Angel (Paperback)
Mallory Dale and Alec Martin are an entry, but he wants more than vanilla in their relationship. She becomes upset with him when he takes her to the Blue Angel burlesque club off the Bowery for her twenty-fifth birthday. About to walk out of the show and her boyfriend, Bette Noir the stripper brings Mallory on to the stage. To her surprise Mallory has a good time and later the couple shares the best sex of their relationship.

Alec still dreams of a ménage a trio with Mallory and another woman. Bette fantasizes about making it with Mallory. Finally Mallory fantasizes of performing so she becomes a dancer at The Blue Angel with Bette her mentor and Alec trying to hang on to what he may have lost.

This is an amusing yet also serious erotic tale as the threesome each face major decisions. This is especially true of Mallory who initially wants to save her relationship with Alec who is looking elsewhere for his flavors while Bette is seeking an F/F with her mentee. The fully developed characters make for a deep heated contemporary as Mallory seeks her groove at the Blue Angel.
