Great for an overall look at this price,

Great variety of boogie styles and at least four or five from all of the best known artists i.e. Lewis, Ammons and Johnson......then covers all the way up to the very jazzed boogie of Tatum. Great for an overview. Some great stride work as well.....again, for the money probably the best as just an overview of the style(boogie).

The real boogie woogie piano players on the first 14 tracks are terrific. I had only heard one of them before. But the last 5 tracks are more jazz than boogie and should not be included on a great boogie disc.

This is an unfair review. The performance is great and I love Boogie. Whats my problem ? The recordings are way too old to be fully enjoyable. If you can get past that, buy it !
