Irresistable!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Blue Breakbeats (Audio CD)
You may not know his name, but when the first few notes of "The Sidewinder" kick in, you will recognize this infinately catchy jazz tune. Along with "Cornbread" (which features Herbie Hancock's lively piano playing), these two melodies have wafted through many a commercial, film, and TV show of the last 40 years. And they are just as hooky and fresh as they were when they hit the airwaves over Christmas 1963. The other two selections on this disc showcase the more melancholy of Morgan's Trumpet flights. Beautiful!By the way, if you like jazz saxophonist Najee, or Oz trumpeter/singer Vince Jones, you will love this disc, because Morgan influenced them both! |
