3.0 out of 5 stars Blue Christmas
Books written by Mary Kay Andrews generally have me "in stitches" from the beginning...cute book ,but not in the league of her bestsellers.

I can't wait to read Deep Dish - hurry and write another one Mary Kay - your books are fabulous and can't come quick enough.

I've become a huge fan of Mary Kay Andrews work and could hardly wait until Blue Christmas was released. I just loved it and highly recommend it. It's a fun book to read especially during the holidays. I really like her style of writing and have also enjoyed her other books as well. I always look forward to new release. Good work, Mary Kay!

5.0 out of 5 stars LIGHT, FLUFFY,FEEL GOOD, EASY LISTENING STORY Audio 4cd unadrib, December 13, 2008
Antique dealer Weezie Foley is in a wild frenzy to decorate her shop front window with the Christmas Theme hoping to win the Savannah district shop front decorating contest. Weezie has the glue gun out and decorates in a totally different style to all the other entrants. She is determined to beat the trendy shop around the corner who also has gone all out to win. But Weezey finds things start to disappear out of her display.

An old lady was seen alseep in the shop front window in the early hours of the morning by a neighbour. When Weezey is woken up and alerted to the apparent break in she rushes there to catch the intruder. The women is gone. Who is this strange old street lady and how does she get into Weezeys shop without breaking in. Then Weezeys back door of her home during the night is left open, food is missing from her fridge and the dog is let out and vanishes into the night. How does someone get into her house?
Weezey is heartbroken looking for her lost dog and not understanding why strange things are happening.

I have read HISSY FIT and SAVANNH BLUES and they all deserve a 5 star rating, Easy, light, fluffy, feel good stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, January 8, 2011

Very fun book. I have enjoyed all the "Weezie and Bebe" books very much. My only complaint? Too short! I hate paying $8 for a book that I can read in two sittings.

I have read this book twice and will probably read again. Light, relaxing read with enjoyable plot and characters I would like to vacation with. I have enoyed all her books, but this one in particular made me want to move to Savannah.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book, December 13, 2010
This review is from: Blue Christmas (Mass Market Paperback)
The only book I had previously read by this author was Hissy Fit. Loved it and loved how I felt at the end. This book gave me the same feeling. It is a very satisfying read with wonderful characters. Now I will go back and read Savannah Blues and Savannah Breeze to learn more about these can't forget characters. It isn't a requirement to do so, it is a calling!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Christmas tofurkey, February 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Of all Mary Kay Andrews's characters, Weezie is my favorite. This Christmas novella is delightful, featuring the wonderful Daniel, the loyal BeBe, Weezie's parents, Uncle Jonathan, and Daniel's dysfunctional family. Weezie's always full of creative ideas, but her plan to invite all of Daniel's family together for dinner is just ... well, from the moment one guest brings tofu as a substitute for turkey and then proceeds to lecture Weezie on the perils of handling poultry in her kitchen, the occasion goes from outrageous to a riot.

Bits of the plotline are rather contrived, but overall the book is charming and funny, hallmarks of Andrews's breezy style. And the recipes have my mouth watering.

Thank you for an amazing and funny book. It is a wonderfully descriptive story that I couldn't put down and just a few hours later, I put it down wanting more. I can't wait to read more of her books.

Blue Christmas is an entertaining, light hearted read. It's a feel good book more than thought provoking, which is just right sometimes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming tale just in time for Christmas, November 26, 2011

This was the last Mary Kay Andrews book I had on my list to read. I kept it for last since the holidays are fast approaching and the title includes the word Christmas. I'm so glad I did! Blue Christmas is a holiday continuation of the plot lines/characters from Ms. Andrews's Savannah Blues & Savannah Breeze novels. This book follows Weezie as she preps for a merchant Christmas decoration contest and the arrival of family and friends for the holidays. It wouldn't be a Mary Kay Andrews book without a mystery and Blue Christmas has a great one that includes a mysterious house break-in (all they took was Weezie's food) followed by other bizarre events that lead Weezie on the path to find out who is messing with her specifically and why. This is a very quick and fun read to get you in the mood for the holidays.
