About the Author

Michael A. Connelly grew up in a blue collar Boston neighborhood as the son of a Boston cop. He graduated from Northeastern University with a master's degree in accounting and enjoyed a successful business career working in both large public companies and small entrepreneurial businesses. Michael is the author of three other novels: An Informal Boston Education (2008); One Batter One Pitch (2008); and Mandate: A Man for the Times (2012). --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Customer Reviews

Typical of this author but I felt the story line got a bit too tricky at times and seemed to lose focus.
Maggie Pearsall
Buying several "Michael Connelly" books at the same time, delighted to find he had books I hadn't read, I find now that I have a book by Michael A Connelly.
sean
I read it to the end expecting something to happen, but except for a blow with brass knuckles it was pretty blah.

This is a different Michael Connelly, our Michael was NOT the son of a Boston Cop and did NOT live in Boston. Read our Michael's biography and you will see what I am saying. I think that people are being duped into thinking this was written by the Florida author. Do yourself a favor and read his bio then make your decision if I am right or not. See if this title is listed in his list of books.
My Michael knows how to grab your interest, I would read his grocery list, but I want the real deal not someone with a similar name. If, I was Michael, I would make sure that people knew this fact.

Decent writing, but a bit boring. Also, a bit not believable, but I read it through to the end. No, it wasn't what I expected.

I'm an avid reader and am finding that this is book a little draggy.
I'm having a difficult time getting into the book - am 1/2 way through
it. Will keep plugging, hoping it will peak my interest.

I will never again download more than one book at a time from Amazon. I didn't realize that they would allow more than one author to use the same name, nor would I expect Amazon to group a second author's work with another. I bought one book by Michael Connelly, no distinguishing middle initial, from a list of books by the excellent Harry Bosch author, to find I had purchased a horrible bit of crap. Buying several "Michael Connelly" books at the same time, delighted to find he had books I hadn't read, I find now that I have a book by Michael A Connelly. Not the Harry Bosch author. Read at your own risk. It isn't the author I so admire and enjoy.

This guy, Michael A Connelly is only selling this junk by tricking people into thinking that the author is the REAL Michael Connelly. Absolutely awful story.

I thought I was buying a Michael Connelly book. Connelly is one of my favorite mystery writers, but this guy isn't Michael Connelly. He is Michael A Connelly. What a waste of my time. I got through about 30% and then went on-line to read the reviews. The non story stinks, pure and simple. It is a shallow, superficial, piece of garbage. The only reason I am writing a review is to warn others not to buy this drivel. YUK!

Some interesting Southie denizen types. Heavy focus on Gym Rat culture. Largely uninteresting. author potential seems to be there. Hope he develops.

I joyfully, yet foolishly purchased Blue Collar Cool by Michael A Connelly believing he to be one of my favourite authors of the Harry Bosch Mickey Haller series. Not to be! This narcissiostic, masturbatory tome couldn't hold my interest beyond the first fifty pages. Pure garbage. Yuck! Enough said.
