I received this CD as a gift, it was not a personal choice, but I feel honored to have it in my collection. Maura has a way of bringing pure joy to a song that transends to the listener to a new level of wonderfulness. Sunnyshine Day, First You Cry and I Would Be Stronger Than That are unbelievable. Whew, what a beautiful voice.

What Are You Doing Reading This When You Could Be Listening,

to this wonderful cd instead? Maura O'Connell, Mary Black, Dolores Keane, Sinead O'Connor are the powerhouses of Irish music for a reason: they ARE that good. This is a wonderful album if you like quality, literate singer-songwriters. "Sunnyshine Day" alone rips me to pieces--the way Ms. O'Connell's voice aches and breaks at just the right moments. This one gets four stars--it is a tad over-produced (when will record producers learn the difference between "sheen" and "shiny?"), but just the right album when you want gorgeous melodies expertly played and sung. O'Connell gets some of Nashville's finest writers and players to support her. Find out why.

Maura O'Connell is a rare find. Her incredible voice and the emotional power of her music combine to bring any listener closer to their heart. Blue Train makes you wish you felt bad just because she makes it sound so good.

A great artist,

I first heard Maura O on the Woman's Heart albums from 10 years ago. I bought this album after listening to two of her tracks on those CDs. At first I was disappointed that this album wasn't more "Irish" but after listening to it a few times, I am now a convert! Many of her songs are a little bluesy some are ballads, but she brings depth and feeling to each one.
I recently saw MO on the first US Woman's Heart Tour and if I wasn't a fan before I would have been after seeing her live. She is an incredibly quirky lady and, man, can she sing! If you get a chance, see her live! It's a real treat!

I saw this wonderful lady on GAC ( great american country )( music ). She didn't look like most of the country singers, so, I watched her video. I was instantly delighted ! Her voice is clear, and pure. Her music is folk, as she's from Ireland. I have 3 of her cd's now, and will get more. I love just siting back and listening to this marvelous voice. No matter what your favorite type of music is, I urge you to listen to just one of her songs, I promise you that you'll be hooked.
