About the Author

David M. Stillman, Ph.D. is a well-known writer of foreign language textbooks, multimedia courses, and reference books. He holds a Ph.D. in Spanish linguistics from the University of Illinois and taught at Harvard, Boston University, and Cornell. He is a professor at The College of New Jersey where he teaches Italian, Spanish, French, and Hebrew.

Ronni L. Gordon, Ph.D. is a prominent author of foreign language textbooks, reference books, and materials for multimedia. She received her Ph.D. in Spanish language and Spanish and Latin American History and Literature from Rutgers University, and taught at Harvard and Boston University. She is an education consultant specializing in curriculum development in foreign languages, literature, and history, and teacher training.

This book translates 555 French verbs in the 14 different tenses used in French. Every verb is put into context at the bottom of the page. The fifty most commonly used verbs in the book are indicted with a diagram that says "top 50 verb"; where most of the verbs only have one side of the page, the fifty top verbs take up both sides of the paper. At the beginning of the book, the tenses are explained briefly. There is a CD-ROm included and on it there are quizzes on the disk that can be downloaded onto your computer so you can test your skills at conjugating the verb in the proper tense.

I bought this book for because it had all the verbs conjugated so if I couldn't remember how to conjugate a particular verb in any tense, I could look it up. The verbs are in alphabetically, which makes for easy look up.
