Just saw these guys (and gal) open up for..and back..Bobby Bare Jr...and they were a pleasant surprise! Rootsy..bluesy..rockin'..a lot of Americana tossed into the mix. Influences from the Beatles to Dylan to the Byrds all with a bit of a"jam band meets Velvet Underground" vibe. I know..hard to explain..but they make for a refreshing change from all the cookie-cutter bands out there. The album is good..but see 'em live and you won't be disappointed.

Having always been a fan of Viva Voce, I went to see Blue Giant playing live in Portland last year. This studio album has successfully captured the excitement of their live sound. Great songs, a really great gritty slide guitar sound, well sung and played, it's hard to find anything not to like with this bluesy, country, pop. Some of the songs on their early "Target Heart" e.p. reappear here.

Saw this band as an opening act the other night, and I didn't have high expectations.

Well, it took me all of 2 minutes after they closed their act to go over to the merchandise table to buy their CD.

They are a little heavier live, which I really liked, but this CD is exceptional.

I think the reviews written prior to mine are spot on, so I won't add much more. I'll just say I agree with them.

I didn't expect to like this style of music, but I've changed my mind since listening to Blue Giant.

Do yourself a favor and check it out.

I saw Blue Giant open for an indie band here in D.C. back in March. They were fantastic! I recommend their CD.

I had never even heard of this band when it was the $3.99 MP3 download of the day. I listened to a couple of songs on their myspace, and decided to go ahead and purchase it.

Great move on my part. I've heard it three times now, and it's very difficult to find a band that more flawlessly blends rock with old time country influences. Once you get past the underwhelming opening track, "Clean the Clock," the record really begins in earnest. Definitely check this one out if you like rock with slide guitar and banjos.

I really am enjoying this album! It is great mix of rock, folk and americana, with a new twist. And the front man and front chica are married, and I think that is hot, and adds a lot to the music. BUY IT!
