I came across this over the speaker in a record store. I stopped me cold. Never have I heard such a wonderful cd that took me through so many moods: from downright giddy, through rockin' and down to the heart-tugging tinklings of melancholy longing. It's the blues, folks, the finest collection of piano blues I've ever heard.

I found this album in a used CD shop. Very enjoyable, but I wish the recordings had been made in the artists' prime. Generally, the vocals detract from the overall appeal of the music. For me the old, orginal records have a sound evocative of the days when the music was popular. Somehow, the modern technology does not capture the "feel" quite so well. In all, the album is a good starting place to go on looking for the more spontaneous, unselfconscious performances.
