Book Description

January 7, 2008
Between twilight and dawn, half-glimpsed things lurk in the swirling sea mist, long-dead things that have clawed their way out of the darkest abyss, things that were better left entombed. In this second volume of Blue Kingdoms Stories, you'll find a host of specters, ghosts, monsters, and more . . . guaranteed to shiver your timbers. Sail the Azure Sea with our ghoulish crew of tale-spinners: Robert E. Vardeman - Paul Genesse - Lorelei Shannon - James M. Ward - Dean Leggett - Jason Mical - Kelly Swails - Marc Tassin - Brandie Tarvin - Kathy Watness - and Jean Rabe & Stephen D. Sullivan.

About the Author

Editor Stephen D. Sullivan has been a professional writer, illustrator, and swashbuckler since 1980. He is the author of more than thirty published novels and numerous comic books. His recent projects include Martian Knights, Spider Riders, and Iron Man. He has won the Origins Award—adventure gaming’s highest honor—twice, first for his samurai fantasy novel The Lion, and later for his Mage Knight short story “Podo and the Magic Shield.” His novel, Dragonlance: Warrior’s Heart, was nominated for a 2006 Scribe Award. The second book in that trilogy, Dragonlance: Warrior’s Blood was cited by the Detroit Free Press as a novel Harry Potter fans would enjoy. Steve’s upcoming books include Frost Harrow™: Dream Lover, A Season of Fear, and the final book in the Catriona trilogy, Dragonlance: Warrior’s Bones. Steve lives in haunted Frosthaven, Wisconsin, with his wife and two children. More information about Steve and his work can be found at www.stephendsullivan.com. Editor Jean Rabe is the author of two dozen novels and more than forty short stories. When not writing on an outdated computer—which isn’t often—she tugs ferociously on old socks with her two dogs, visits museums, listens to country music, and pretends to garden. She has a growing stack of to-be-read books that she occasionally manages to put a dent in. Jean loves movies “that blow up real good,” indulges in fantasy football leagues, plays all sorts of boardgames, injures innocent bushes when she weed-whacks, and loathes shoes. 4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Fantasy/Pirate/Horror Anthology October 3, 2010
Format:Paperback
One a series of anthologies set in the Blue Kingdoms, a fantasy island setting with a great deal of worldbuilding behind it, this anthology focuses on things that go squish in the dark. Like most anthologies, everyone will have their own favorites, but my favorites included Brandie Tarvin's "The Monster of Moaahnee Bay," Dean Leggett's "Book of Life," Jean Rabe's "Black Spots," Marc Tassin's "The Beacon," and Jim Ward's "Night of the Living Island," not that most of the rest aren't fine stories, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blue kingdoms shades and spectors May 24, 2010
Format:Paperback
How do you not like a story with a pair of basilisks? Besides that as well as other good characters this story has a really great twist. All is not what it seems in the Court of the Blood Red Queen. This collection is worth your time.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Great Pirate Adventure February 27, 2009
Format:Paperback
I was very excited to get my hands on another Blue Kingdoms book, and I wasn't dissapointed. Ships and pirates, betrayal and adventure, it's all here, including more about Maeve, the pirate witch in "The Queen's Ransom" by Paul Genesse. A really fun read.
