5.0 out of 5 stars an extraordinary suncream
Not until my dermatologist recommended this product had I ever heard of Blue Lizard. It is the most effective suncream, even at regular strength, that I have ever used and, because of my fair skin and propensity for basal cell carcinoma, I need an effective product. Thank you Blue Lizard for developing a cream that really protects, whether north of the equator or on the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Harsher Than Expected
I bought this product based on good reviews and research of non-chemical barrier sunscreens. True to it's word it is waterproof and lasted all day long. The down side was that both of my daughters, age 5 years and 20 months, had reactions to it. Both broke out in rashes on their back, chest, and shoulders (we used it all over). Their eyes got red, puffy, and watery...

My son has a Port-wine stain birthmark on his face, He is a typical 6yr old and loves to be outside. Our dermatlogist recommended this sunscreen, especially prior to laser treatment. It is awesome, and a little goes a long way. Thank you Blue Lizard

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps my children safe, May 20, 2008
I keep my for my fair skinned kids in short sleeve rash guards while swimming as much as possible. So when a friend (with a son that had skin cancer) suggested Blue Lizard I went right out and bought it. When I first applied it I was not impressed. It was thick (the zinc oxide) and required more time and effort to apply than the continuous spray sunscreen I was using. But WOW! This stuff stays on! The kids could swim, towel off, swim again and still be fine.

By the end of the summer you'd never know we belong to a swim club. And that a good thing! Well worth the price and application effort.

I spend a lot of time in the sun golfing, and I need to protect myself from the sun. I have used this product for over 3 years and I have not experienced any sunburns nor do I even get a tan. It offers complete protection. It last for a complete round of golf (4 hours), and you don't feel all greased up.

Highly recommended by my dermatologist. Has all the right ingredients to help prevent skin cancer. Much cheaper to by from Amazon than to purchase from the doctor.

The down side was that both of my daughters, age 5 years and 20 months, had reactions to it. Both broke out in rashes on their back, chest, and shoulders (we used it all over). Their eyes got red, puffy, and watery and my 5 year old's skin got very dry and scaly on her neck and chest. We switched to using Blue Lizard Face sunscreen on their faces and this does not seem to cause any problems. I would recommend the product for its effectiveness, but would advise not using it on those with a history of sensitive skin or eczema.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blue Lizard Sunscream, October 23, 2011

This product was actually recommended to me by the U of U Medical Center to protect against UV A&B. Not sure of the actually numbers but it's something like if a sun screen protests again about 10% of the UV A or B spectrum they can state they protect against that UV. Again, not sure of the actually number, 5, 10, 15%? One of the ingredients that you need to look for in a good sun screen is Zink Oxide. This product will also turn blue when light hits it so leave it close at hand and it will till you to put it on even on a cloudy day.

I've found the Blue Lizard Suncream to be a great bargin online. In stores the price is marked up well over 5-10 dollars in some places. So far it has not dissapointed and has worked as well as other creams.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good replacement for Bullfrog's original formula, July 13, 2010

This review is from: Blue Lizard Australian Suncream, Regular SPF 30+, 5-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
If you liked Bullfrog SPF 45 before they changed their formula around 2007, you'll like this. It's a moisturizer, in addition to sunblock, so it will leave you shiny until you put on makeup or a primer. (If I don't want to wear foundation, I use a silicone based makeup primer over this to give me a matte finish.) It does not leave me with a white cast. It contains titanium oxide/zinc oxide which my dermatologist and I prefer to strictly chemical sunscreens. I have very sensitive skin and this does not irritate me at all. No scent. If you don't like greasy, you won't like this. This works well if you have dry or normal skin and want to use this as your daily moisturizer. I put it fairly close to my eyes and have noticed that if I am outside sweating A LOT, and don't have makeup on over it, it can sometimes run into my eyes - but this may be because I use a lot and get it too close to my eyes. Also: it's an australian product and in australia they can't advertise anything higher than an SPF 30: notice the "+" symbol on the bottle. Although 30 is good enough, I suspect it's probably higher than that since it has higher concentrations of the oxides than Bullfrog which was SPF 45.

I love this sunscreen. I can not stand the smell of sunscreen, something about it makes me want to wretch, so I was looking for something less stinky. This sunscreen smells nice, almost unnoticeable. Also, it doesn't leave a greasy sheen on your skin like a lot of sunscreens do. Finally, I love that it's waterproof, so much so that you can't just rinse it off under running water, you have to use a lot of soap and really scrub it off. My kids wore it outside all afternoon and ran through the neighbor's sprinkler without my knowing it and spent another couple of hours in the sun. I was afraid this sunscreen had lost it's effectiveness, but the kids weren't burnt at all :)
