Book Description

Blue Love
Tessa Ross tries to fight her attraction to bad boy Lucas Links. He is hot, arrogant, and has a sexual past that most boys his age could only dream of, (If they even knew they could dream of such things).
Lucas, the star quarterback seems to have it all, super star athletic abilities, expensive clothes, cars, and women who literally stop just to watch him walk by. On the outside he appears to have it all.
Tessa is a young woman who lives her life always doing what is right to make everyone else happy. She tries desperately to hold herself accountable to the demanding expectations of her family and everyone around her.
Is Tessa as innocent as she appears? Is Lucas just a spoiled young man who seems to have what every male, and female wants?
A troubled home life exposed. Past flings fight for his attention. While the only girl who Lucas ever dated connives to win him back using the only thing she knew held him to begin with. Does her desperation destroy a love he never knew existed before Tessa? A love bound not by his past or hidden secrets. A love of truth and depth. A love that knew no end regardless of tragic circumstance.
Blue Love is not your typical love story. It is a journey through your past or a story of one close to you. It’s our story.

4.0 out of 5 stars First loves October 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Holy Wow, this is an emotional read.

Tessa's family lives on a farm. Her parents have been having problems, but she's wondering if it's all starting to end. Her mom is cleaning out the house and it's like a bad omen. She's just waiting for the divorce talk. This is supposed to be a great year for her, but with taking care of her younger siblings and the entire house, how can she focus on anything? When she meets Lucas, he's just like the other white hats....Nice to look at, but that's it. She's not the type to fawn over a man.

Lucas is the star quarterback in a school that has just merged. He has a dark past and is from a family who is too wrapped up in themselves to give a damn about him. Living with his mother who is an alcoholic, drug user, and promiscuous, he has picked up her habits. When he sees Tessa, he's immediately taken by her. Funny thing is, she's the one girl who hasn't fallen at his feet. Now begins a very long and difficult web of emotional pains.

For Tessa, as if dealing with a first boyfriend, a parental divorce, and raging hormones isn't enough, she has multiple run-ins with the girls of Lucas's past. Some more ugly than others, but all leave a little cut that will lead to a big scar in the relationship. How does a good church going girl deal with girls of loose morals and boyfriend who is trying to get on the right path?

This book was hard to put down. You knew inevitably that Lucas was going to do something to screw up and that Tessa would fall apart and try to fix him. This is the basis for their ENTIRE relationship. The only other thing they have going is a very steamy sexual attraction to each other. It was hard to read Lucas making the same mistakes and Tessa trying to help him, when she's falling apart.

2.0 out of 5 stars Trashy stuff December 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First things first. If you read this book, you'll spend 400+ pages with these characters and end with a total cliffhanger. Some readers are okay with that, but since it isn't clear from the item description that you will have to pay to get an end to the story, I wanted to point that out.

Apparently this book is an early work by the author and parts of the work make that clear. The editing is pretty poor -- non-standard punctuation, some unusual formatting choices (like having the character sign their name after every text -- not something I've ever seen happen in real life), and factual errors (attributing songs to the wrong band). The editing is so bad that I couldn't really recommend this book to anyone.

This is the story of Tessa and Lucas. Tessa and Lucas are both high school seniors. Budget cuts have caused redistricting and so they meet for the first time their senior year. In keeping with well-established YA tradition, Tessa is apparently beautiful, but nobody has ever noticed before Lucas notices her. He quickly decides that he has to have her, despite the fact that she is rude to him. Tessa is this weird mix of virginal and straight-up crazy. When she isn't protecting her precious flower of womanhood, she's drinking like a sailor on shore leave (in one scene, she drinks an entire bottle of wine in a manner of minutes) and tearing her shirt off. As her relationship with Lucas progresses, she gets crazier and crazier -- sassing her grandmother (who only appears for a single scene, apparently so Tessa can get slapped in the face), making out with near-strangers, puking in ditches, and cat-fighting with pregnant rivals.

5.0 out of 5 stars YA Love September 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I took a break from the 50 Shades, Crossfire type books and gave this one a try, and I was very happy I did. I loved this story it was so real to me. I fell in love with the Characters, and found myself wanting to see the Bad Boy get the girl....Really emotional story loved every minute cannot wait for the next book which I am told should be on Amazon this week.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did I miss something??? January 3, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Oh my, do not waste your time with this book! The writing was not good and the flow of the story was actually confusing at times. The story would shift within a paragraph! The conversations held and actions of the characters were far fetched and I really didnt find a plot! The ending sucked and left you wondering what happened next. This book was very hard to read and the only reason I finished was because I dont like to stop after starting. I do not recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Lucas February 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Oh wow I never cried so hard and so much like I did while and after reading this book. Lucas is a hot alpha football player who is used to getting what he wants when he want. Tessa is the independent country girl, that don't take s*** from anyone. His text he sends her are the best: -- YOU LOOK HOT TESSA...LL" SHE ROLLED HER EYES,IGNORED IT, AND PUT THE PHONE IN HER BAG. "IS THAT HOW IT'S GOING TO BE TESSA?" OH I'M SORRY... WAS THAT FROM YOU?" "YOU'RE NOT USED TO THIS KIND OF ATTENTION, ARE YOU?" "YOU NEED TO GET USED TO IT TESSA. I'M GOING TO BE WATCHING YOU." "SOUNDS KIND OF STALKER-ISH, LL." "NO TESS, JUST SOMEONE WHO ADMIRES YOUR ASSETS."

"SHE IS MORE PRECIOUS TO ME EVERYDAY. HER INNOCENCE AND HEART ARE PURE AND PERFECT. I WANT TO BE HER SOFT PLACE TO LAND WHEN SHE FEELS LIKE FALLING. I DREAM OF MAKING HER AS HAPPY AS SHE MAKE ME ...I HAVE TO BECOME THE MAN SHE DESERVES. TO LOVE AND TAKE CARE OF HER ALWAYS...LYA LUCAS."

I love and hate Lucas at the same time. I hate that he's an ass to her and she has to be strong for him and her self. Great ya love story. Cant wait to read the rest! MJ is an amazing author!

More About the Author

MJ Fields had no clue what she was getting into when she began the journey of writing. She say's, "I still don't--but I like it!"
Her imagination became apparent at age three. Sigma was her very first (imaginary) boyfriend. He lived about fifteen miles from her family's farm. She took him chicken noodle soup every night on one of their snowmobiles.(Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring). Apparently he was very ill and "Thank God" she was able to take care of him.
At eight her love for writing blossomed. Together with her cousins (of course she was the president) they wrote a newsletter and sold it to their family members.
Years later she decided to put it back into print to entertain her cousin as she was on an aircraft carrier on 9/11, very far away from home during a scary time for our country.
Fast forward to 2012. She read 50 Shades and thought, 'I wanna do that!' (meaning writing).
She has two complete series, The Love Series and Wrapped. There are also two new series Burning Souls and Men of Steel that are as of now not complete. Thirteen books in sixteen months. CrAzY and wonderful.
She loves love!
Her Mom raised her right. She says please and thank you and means it. She expects the same out of her child. 'It's the right thing to do.'
Her mother taught her to take care of herself and others. 'I don't like leaving the house without mascara even if I'm in an oversized hoody and warm up pants.'
Her Dad taught her how to work hard and never expect to be handed anything. She likes to work and doesn't mind getting dirty.
Both taught her to be respectful and the importance of doing the right thing regardless of what people around her do. They taught her about the importance of family and that it didn't always just include blood relatives. They also tried to teach her how to keep my thoughts to myself...she is still working on that.
MJ tends to enjoy watching people grow and change with self realization and moments of clarity that just sneak up behind you and smack you in the head.
She loves people and has always been able to see both sides of a story. 'Each person that comes into our life leaves us with something it is what we choose to do with it that helps us grow.'
She lives in central New York in the middle of nowhere and is surrounded by family and friend most the time. She ran a small business out of her home and has recently closed her door to pursue this dream full time. She spends time writing and doing the typical Mommy things. Her house is full of pets, friends, and noise ninety percent of the time, and she would have it no other way.
