The Blue Microphones Mikey turns your iPod or iPhone into a high quality mobile recording device. Mikey connects directly to your device and uses advanced recording technology to produce natural stereo recordings. It rotates up to 230 degrees for easy positioning. Additionally, three gain settings offer a wide range of sensitivity levels for different audio sources, from quiet speech to booming music.

Mikey requires no software to operate--simply plug it into your iPod via the standard 30-pin dock connector and begin recording. You can record up to four hours of continuous material (battery life varies by iPod device).
Mikey's compact size makes it highly portable. At 2-1/2 inches by 1/2 inch (H x D), Mikey is easy to carry and won't attract attention. Mikey's extended connector is compatible with most protective cases.
With high quality condenser capsules and Blue's preamplifier technology, Mikey is able to record sounds that range from barely audible to deafeningly loud without any loss in fidelity. Mikey has three gain settings, allowing you to dynamically adjust the microphone for optimal recording of different audio sources. For loud concerts or scratch tracks, simply slide the sensitivity switch to low-gain for distortion-free recordings.
A 3.5-millimeter stereo input jack allows you to record audio output from another device directly onto your iPod. Use this feature to record radio broadcasts, CD playback, or most any other audio source.
The microphone's dual-sided metal grill and rubber shock mounting reduce internal and handling noise, helping you record your audio source with greater clarity.
Mikey has an integrated USB port that can be used to charge your iPod while it is connected, whether recording or not (USB cable not included).
Mikey's recording head is hinged with seven locking positions, providing a 230-degree adjustability range. You can direct the microphone toward your sound source without changing your position. For instance, if you're sitting on the top tier of an auditorium and want to record your professor's lecture, you can rotate Mikey toward the sound source to obtain a clear, intelligible recording.
When used with an iPod touch or iPhone, Mikey gives you access to Blue FiRe, a special recording application that provides audio enthusiasts, musicians, students, and reporters with a feature-rich simple-to-use audio recording platform. Coupled with Mikey, Blue FiRe provides high-fidelity recordings in stereo, with basic file management and editing functions that you can access from your iPod or iPhone's touch screen.
In addition, Mikey works with a variety of third-party recording applications. For best results, Blue recommends using applications (like Blue FiRe) that utilize Mikey's full stereo recording capabilities.
Second Generation Mikey features the "Made for iPod" certification. It works with most iPod models, including iPod touch (1G, 2G, and 3G), iPod nano (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G), iPod classic, and iPod 5G. It can also be used with the iPhone (versions 3GS and earlier).
Mikey Second Generation is backed by a limited two-year warranty.
