5.0 out of 5 stars Very smoothly written and easy to follow., June 10, 1998

This review is from: From Blue Mills to Columbia-93 (Hardcover)
The book starts with the birth of Cedar Falls, and then moves into the beginning of the war and the call for volunteers. Two different companies were formed from Cedar Falls, and the book follows them both through the war in a very smooth and chronological order. You get to know a few individuals from each company really well through Kenneth's writing.

Also you get to see and feel what the town reaction through out the war was like. Their feelings, their emotions, their hopes and dreams.

Mr. Lyftogt really did some outstanding research into this work. And I was hooked from the first day. This certainly was a book that once I picked it up, I didn't want to put it down.
