A real winner!,
By STEVE BRAUN (Garland, TEXAS United States) - See all my reviews

I am so glad Steve' debut album is FINALLY released. I have had the pleasure of hearing all these tunes many times. This is a very solid, outstanding array of Steve' musical feel. Steve is one of those rare vocalist who can sing any type of tune and make you believe it. This tunes cover the gamit. I look for many of these to become singles. "The Hunger" will certainly be his next single release. I believe Steve will shoot the video for that tune very soon. I hope "Good Morning Beautiful" will be the next single following "The Hunger." It just doesn't get any better than "Good Morning Beautiful." I am so thrilled that much of the country is finding out what an outstanding vocalist and performer Steve is. This album will certainly bring more into the Steve Holy fandom. By the way, if you get the chance to catch Steve in concert, DO IT. He is a fantastic live performer. About as good as I have ever seen. And that is the Holy Truth.

DON'T MISS THIS DEBUT ALBUM!,
By Fran C. Stevenson (Nashville, TN United States) - See all my reviews

I bought this CD on the first day that it was released, and if it were possible to wear a CD out...I would have done so by now. There is not a bad song on the entire CD. My personal favorite, "Just A Kiss", was co-written by Steve. There are many other memorable songs, including the title track "Blue Moon", "the Hunger", "Don't Make Me Beg", and "Good Morning, Beautiful".The cuts on the album display Steve's unique musical style, and beautiful voice. He can do it all...love songs, ballads, and country rock. Don't miss out on this up and coming artist's debut album...you won't be disappointed!!!

Refreshing,

Steve Holy is a refreshing new sound with a mixture of retro and modern in his style. The "Blue Moon "album has a little something for everyone. His vocals are effortless, smooth, and powerful all at the same time. The song selections are all great. A few of the best cuts are:"Blue Moon"- The title cut, a beautiful, dreamy ballad. You will definitly enjoy listening to this album!

Steve Holy is the best thing to happen to country music in a long, long time! I fell in love with his velvety voice from the first time I heard "Don't Make Me Beg" on the radio. It seemed like forever before this CD was released, but it was worth the wait!! It is one of the rare CDs that I can listen over and over from beginning to end and never get tired of it! From the romantic hardship of "Blue Moon" to the sheer bliss of "Good Morning Beautiful", Steve draws you in with his powerful voice, a cross between Roy Orbison and Elvis. "Cold Kisses" has sort of a Latin influence and once again, Steve's great voice brings the song to life. "If That's What You Want" and "She's So" are both story songs that have the woman on a pedestal. My personal favorite song on this CD is the story of two lonely people brought together to satisfy "The Hunger". I don't want to give the CD away totally, but suffice to say that it is a must-have for the country music fan! Remember the name Steve Holy, you will be hearing it a lot in the future!

Amazing!,

We've known down here in Texas what a great singer and performer Steve is for awhile....now the rest of the country will find out! This album is so diverse and all of Steve's influences shine in his music. There isn't a bad cut on the album...I simply love them all. And, being a traditionalist, I love the older country feel of the songs. Steve can sing anything...if you've never seen him in concert then you've missed his rendition of "Easy"...it'll knock your socks off! I believe Steve will go far...don't miss out on getting in on the ground floor of this amazing performer's career!

Welcome To A New Breed of Singers,
This review is from: Blue Moon (Audio CD)
Ever Get that feeling that a superstar has just hit us? Well, that is the feeling that I felt the First time I heard Don't Make Me Beg. I purchased the single and anxiously awaited the release of the CD. It Was Finally released in October 2000, nearly a year after I first heard "don't." It was well worth the Wait. Much Like His Contemporary Eric Heatherly, Steve sings songs he likes, not just ones the ever fickle radio will like. The 2nd single, "Blue Moon," Is a great tune to sing along to. "The Hunger" is a potential breakout single. "one Beat at a time" is a great song. "Just a Kiss" sounds as if it's right off an Orbison record. "Good Morning Beautiful" has great wordplay with the lyrics. "You're Gonna Miss My Love," written by Pure Prarie League's Craig Fuller, is pure southern rock at it's finest. Get this record you won't be let down.

Steve Holy....sure to please,
By Doug Pecore (Wyckoff, NJ) - See all my reviews

I have seen the future of Country Music...and his name is Steve Holy! Or so it seems on every track of Blue Moon where Steve's cystal clear voice "covers all the bases" on twelve great songs. The title cut is a clear winner, and the Hunger is sure to please, but it's "Good Morning, Beautiful" which rings truest; a delightful play on words with "smash hit single" written all over it! Wilbur Rime's production is excellent, and the "all- star" cast of players and writers are sure to move Steve way up in the charts.

And I'm talking about the CD, not the man. I heard his song "I'm not breakin'" on the radio (even though it doesn't appear on this CD) and fell instantly in love with Steve Holy. Traditional meets today's changing country. His music reminds me of Chris Isaak in a country bar. Favorites include "The Hunger," "Blue Moon" and "Don't make me beg." I'll beg for another album by Steve.
