5.0 out of 5 stars superb
Miles only did a few recordings for the Blue Note label (most notably the amazing "Birth of the Cool" lp) as he was under contract to Presitge, so this box set is of importance to Miles completists, and are well worth the purchase price for the novice fan, as well.

I love this period in Miles career. He was at a pivotal stage in his life. For instance, his early adult battle with the drug life. As he explains in his autobiography... during these sessions Miles and a couple of his bandmates (J.J.Johnson,Jackie McLean, etc.) would frequently ask Alfred Lion for offsite breaks!! There's a sauntering sharpness in the melodies that reveals its players essence. Having that insight into the mood of the day reveals realism that only Miles seemed capable of controlling, through his steady ease and signature coolness.

P.S. Miles Davis features Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" on the album TUTU - A Classic 80's album
