I have to respectfully disagree with my fellow reviewers who gave this well thought-out, well-crafted album 3 or 2 stars. Hey, Stevie is even on a track with the legendary Stanley Turrentine, so how BAD could it be?! Hell, I didn't know Najee played the flute THAT well. We already know about his sax chops, but he smokes on 'Summer Soft'. Herbie isn't so bad himself. His playing is delicate and precise. Thinking about it, it'd be nice to hear a full 'David Benoit does Stevie' album. (The ivory tickling on 'Summer Soft' reminds me of David). The rest of the album is also excellent. 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' sounds like a celebration of life. You know, I'm sure Blue Note released this record with Stevie's blessing. I'm guessing, but I doubt I'm wrong. Next up: 'Blue Note Plays Earth, Wind & Fire' or 'Blue Note Plays Steely Dan.' I'm salivating already.

Stevie Wonder wrote some great lyrics, but he excelled at making those lyrics into a memorable tune. Everyone will know these tunes, thus the familiarity helps make the style of music more accessible. Highlights include "Living for the city" and "Summer soft". The perfect CD for Sunday afternoon drinks; upbeat, familiar and unintrusive.

no one does stevie better than stevie. dont bother to buy this. waste of $$$
