5.0 out of 5 stars Cute & Fun
This game is very cute. It takes no time at all to set up and learn the rules. The game is very durable and even the box is well constructed. We played with a three year old and two five year olds. All three of them caught onto the rules quickly and it didn't take long to complete a game. They giggled like crazy every time they were able to move their frogs. It's also a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Way to easy
It takes no time for my kids 3 & 5 to figure out which eye doesn't have the frog on it so next thing you know one kid is zooming around the lilly pads while the other sits in boredom. Read the directions many times and there is just no way around it it's way to easy to remember which eye is blank. We have Pengaloo and that game is way more fun because the Penguins are...

It's also a game that isn't mind-numbingly boring for an adult to play. I purchased a set for my daughter and then got another set for my niece and nephew. It's one of the better games I've purchased for my kids.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good little game, May 14, 2008

I bought this today for my niece's birthday (tomorrow). We opened it up on the SI Ferry and played a quick game between me (an adult), her (five years tomorrow!), and her sister (two years, seven months).

It took up only one seat on the Ferry (though that was by us being very economical in our space), so it can be played even under crowded conditions.

Both children grasped the concept of the game easily, and were able to keep close pace during the game - nobody felt very left behind for the entire game. Even if you have a bad memory and can't remember which eyes "see" the baby frogs, you still have a 50% chance of a lucky guess, which really levels the playing field for everybody. In order to level out the lucky guesses some we instituted a rule that you can't move more than three spaces per turn, even if you keep guessing right.

The game only took about ten minutes - good for a quick game, but not for when you want the kids to stay quiet while you shower or something. For added challenge, you could, perhaps, have everybody run the race twice.

I do have a caveat. There are a lot of pieces to this game - 18 eyes, nine adult frogs, six baby frogs, 12 lilypads, two dice - all of which can easily become lost. If you're not very well organized, or if your children tend to get into everything and spill them around and lose stuff under the fridge and the couch, I would suggest you get another game, something where a lost piece isn't quite so dire.

Edit: As it happens, you can purchase spare pieces from the manufacturer, and contact information for them is noted in the instructions for this game. This is especially good for me - my game was, I found out, accidentally packaged with the wrong proportion of blank and "caught you" eyes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for all the family, December 26, 2007

We bought this for our four year old daughter, but were pleasantly surprised when we found our nine year son was even keener to play it despite some initial reluctance! Definitely teaches memory skills, and adults may find yourself beaten by the younger members of the family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Change the rules!!, February 3, 2009

Froggie Boogie is a great game per the reviews, with one exception -- the concept. The baby frogs are supposed to cross the pond only when their parents aren't looking. Sound like something you're trying to NOT teach your child to do?? And very young kids are playing this game, not older ones who can discern subtle differences better. Luckily this is easily remedied by changing the rules so that the baby frogs can hop across the pond only when the mommies are LOOKING. If the mommy frog isn't looking, the baby frog has to wait till his/her next turn. Credit my husband with this improvement to the game!

I bought this for my 4 year old. Easy to learn! Lots of laughs! It's great for working on memory skills and identifying colors! I highly recommend it! If you're burned out on games like Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, and Pretty as a Princess, this is a fantastic change! The whole family truly has fun playing this one!

I was very impressed by the quality of this game. Beautiful wooden pieces, and very sturdy box. A quality product, and a fabulous memory game to boot. Our entire family enjoys playing this. I bought this to help us spend quality time together and it is definately a success!! Fun and easy to play for kids, and surprisingly challenging for adults (particularly for those whose memory is not what it used to be :) )

Gave this game to my grandchildren, ages 3 & 5, and enjoyed playing as much as they did. It was the first game the three year old actually took turns and followed along.

This game is perfect for 3 - 7 year olds. It's great for the three year olds for recognizing colors and acts as a memory game for the older kids. My grand children ages 3 -5 all enjoyed it.

Read the directions many times and there is just no way around it it's way to easy to remember which eye is blank. We have Pengaloo and that game is way more fun because the Penguins are all the same that cover the colored eggs so you must really pay attention. With Froggy Boogie once a child checks an eye if they do not put it back exactly right you know thats the eye with the frog or blank. Another Great game is Curious George get that one instead.
