Bought this game for my 4 year-old. She loves it! Her friends too.
It's easy enough for young children to learn in moments. Just stack the cute wooden hens, wagon wheels, and hay bales on the wobbly perch, and take turns removing piece by piece while still keeping the roost in balance. My daughter loves the suspense, and I love that she is practicing important fine motor and balancing skills while having a ton of fun! The game is cute and very well crafted, all in wood.

The game is such a simple concept, but it's great for practicing hand-eye coordination and learning about levers and balance. You can effect how challenging the game is by stacking most of the weights on one end and changing where the fulcrum is. Then we get to learn about how the same weight far from the balancing point has more effect than the same weight closer to the balancing point. Lots of fun and learning going on. The only "negative" is for my 5 y.o. She doesn't like games that unpredictably crash down (Jenga isn't for her eigher). The adaptation we've made for the little one is that a grown up coaches her on which weight to take for her best bet. She seems to like that better. My 6 y.o. likes it just fine.
Games are quick, simple and fun.

My not quite 4 year old daughter loves this game. It teaches simple balancing physics both while setting it up and while playing. It also helps children practice slow, controlled hand movements (and patience) and helps with simple addition practice.
There are two ways to play the game - one for children who can add (or are learning to) and one for very young children. Each piece has a point value and the person with the most points at the end wins OR the last person to remove a piece from the beam without knocking it over wins. Right now, we are playing the simpler version with no points. As I said, she loves it. I expect she will enjoy playing this game for quite a few years to come.

WAY better than ANOTHER game of Candyland,

Love this game. The pieces are smooth and beautiful. You can alter the challenge of the game by using more or less pieces - so it works well for many different ages. To be honest I do have to say this isn't my kids' favorite game...I usually have to be the one to suggest it BUT it is fun for adults and so much more entertaining than playing Candyland YET AGAIN. I have enjoyed giving this as a gift as well - it is not such a common game so it is less likely the recipient will have the game already, it is a quiet game and educational so I hope the parents are happy to have it as well.

Great quality product - solid wood construction. Kids ages 3 & 5 enjoy the game very much. It's a little difficult for them to set up on their own, but after that they're off & running. 3 year old doesn't quite get the "balance" concept yet, but 5 year old does very well. Recommend this game!

This game is so much fun to play and it's great because you can play with anyone from 4 years old on up. At first we thought we'd just play it with/for the kids, but the adults had just as much fun playing as the kids did (even the men). It teaches about balance, something the small kids struggled w/at first but then as they began to get the hang of it, their smiles got bigger and they were proud of themselves and happy that they were able to play this game with the adults. Lots of FUN!! TRY IT!! It was a little bit smaller than I was expecting, the large chickens are only about an inch and a half tall, just to give you and idea on scale. The entire game is made out of wooden pieces and is good quality that will last.

i bought this for my 4 year old daughter a week ago. She LOVES it! And so do I! We play it at every spare minute of the day. She loves to make the 'chickies' fall off the perch but also loves to try and add up her points (although she can't do this yet!). This is a great educational game of balance and numbers, I would recommend this for kids and adults of all ages!

My daughter's brownie troop used this game and other logic games to earn their Math Fun Badge. They enjoyed the challenge of trying to balance everything and loved the loud noise the pieces make when they hit the table. They were thinking and having fun at the same time.
