Great album!,

This review is from: The Blue Orange (MP3 Download)
This is an exciting and surprisingly melodic album. The vocal writing, interesting harmonic shifts, and eclectic instrumentation resembles early Beatles albums. This is an album made by great musicians, strutting their stuff with a mix of sixties rock, homegrown folk, and funky, punk-ish rhythms.

Superb Debut,

This review is from: Blue Orange (Audio CD)
This is a top-notch debut album by all standards. It's warm, full of catchy melodies and hooks, well-thought harmonies and eclectic instrumentation. Influences sound like they include the Beatles, Elvis Costello, 50s pop-rock, folksy blues and some spatterings of more modern/mellow rock. Some of the album's standout cuts include: Dead in the Future (But Still OK), A Vague Picture, Gunna Dance a Little Longer and Let Me Snooze. This album will leave you both satisfied and wanting more, just the way it should be.

Like your favorite pair of shoes...,
This review is from: Blue Orange (Audio CD)
..."The Blue Orange" just feels right...This is what you get when you have a band who takes '60s influences and manages to not be tied down by them. Instead, "The Blue Orange" sounds like random bits taken from the past 50 years of rock music mixed together seamlessly. Alternately mellow or upbeat, distorted or clean, traditional or modern, the album is consistently tied together by strong melodies, creative arrangements and great harmony work...Highly recommended
