Biography

When Jack White formed The White Stripes with his big sister Meg in 1997 no one could have predicted the journey they would take. A love of early delta blues inspired Jack to take a minimalist approach to the music, one which included a simple drumming style by Meg as well as a red, white and black color scheme for everything from their stage clothing to their record sleeves.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3rd Age Review, July 4, 2005

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Blue Orchid Pt.2 (Audio CD)
This is the Blue Orchid single with 3 tracks, including the 2 non-album releases: Who's A Big Baby? and Though I Hear You Calling I Will Not Answer.

Jack White now breathes the rare air of living legend as he continues to develop at light speed. This is nothing less than the leading edge of the 3rd age of rock and roll as Jack continues to lead the way for what will we will look back on as the great ones of the era....Kings Of Leon, Razorlight, and those that follow.

The Blue Orchid singles have been released as follows:

Blue Orchid US CD Single (2005 May 31)
.....Blue Orchid
.....Who's A Big Baby
.....Though I Hear You Calling I Will Not Answer
.....You've Got Her In Your Pocket (Live in Belfast)

Blue Orchid UK Import CD Single (2005 Jun 19)
.....Blue Orchid
.....Though I Hear You Calling I Will Not Answer

Blue Orchid Swedish Import CD Single (2005 Jun 19)
.....Blue Orchid
.....Who's A Big Baby
.....You've Got Her In Your Pocket (Live in Belfast)

2.0 out of 5 stars Be Weary!, June 10, 2005
This review is from: Blue Orchid Pt.2 (Audio CD)
First, if you're in the States, seek out the domestic version of the single it has the two tracks from this disc plus another Jack number. Here's my thoughts on the songs included on this version (from a review I sent to a friend of mine):

"Who's A Big Baby?" - I was geeked b/c I figured, I'd now have a proper Meg track to makeup for the creepy, brief "Passive Manipulation" (from the new album). This was not to be. The track is a B-side to the new album in every sense, read this as: Weird, unexpected and featuring a marimba. Meg's "vocals" are digitized and creepy. They "lyrics" seem to chiefly consist of "Who's a big baby?", "Waaahhh!!!", and "I want my Mommy!" Utter bollocks. I'm shuddering as I listen to it.

"You've Got Her In Your Pocket (Live)" Northern Ireland August 25th, 2004 - The live version of Pocket is wonderful and a very welcome breath of fresh air after all that Satan experimentation! Jack does a great job playing this one live.
