As an observant sensitive child, the author is bullied by her mother and betrayed by her father. She must learn to trust her psychic abilities and the Spirit she comes come to know. Her physical journey takes her from the Midwest ot Santa Monica, California and eventually to India. Often disappointing, her experiences do not make sense to her causing great angst. As an intelligent woman and working mother she is plagued with inner-conflict. Meeting Swami Muktananda was mysteriously connected to her ubiquitous Spirit. Her transformation is fascinating to me.

"The Blue Pearl" is a long read, but well worth the journey! The chapters are just the right length as a treat before bedtime. I always looked forward to picking up the book and reading about new adventures in Chinmayi's life. Her style of writing consistently enticed me back for more as I found many affirming parallels to my own life. Her ability to share the most intimate details of her life's Spiritual journey authentically, from the heart, truly makes "The Blue Pearl" an inspirational read. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking their own path to the Light. |
