Blue Planet,
By Nick Spreitzer (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blue Planet: Music From BBC TV Series (Audio CD)
Only containing about an hours worth of music from an eight hour proram, needless to say that there is missing music. However, the music presented is great. Some cues are expanded, and some are only a feeling of an entire episode. But overall, this is a great listen. The show was fantastic in almost every way, and the music in the series plays well with the images. The soundtrack is worth it.

"The Blue Planet - Seas of Life"!,

This review is from: Blue Planet: Music From BBC TV Series (Audio CD)
The Blue Planet soundtrack contains much of the music from the BBC television series with the same name. Like other reviewers have pointed out, the music that made it to the disc is great, but a lot of it is missing. But, that aside, this is an excellent CD.
The amazon.com track listings aren't quite complete and don't have the running-time of each track, so I'll list both below... 01 THE BLUE PLANET 2:49 02 SARDINE RUN 3:29 03 SPINNING DOLPHINS 2:38 04 BLUE WHALE 4:45 05 THIMBLE JELLY FISH 2:09 06 SURFING SNAILS 1:49 07 EMPERORS 4:19 08 TURTLES 2:15 09 SHARKS 3:43 10 STINGRAY 2:02 11 BAITBALL 4:26 12 THE DEEP OCEAN 6:27 13 ELEPHANT SEAL MARCH 2:36 14 FROZEN OCEANS 1:23 15 CORAL WONDER 2:25 16 KILLER WHALES 7:49 It's true that this isn't the complete soundtrack of the entire series, but that is no reason not to own as much of it as you can, highly recommended!

Captivating music from the greatest documentary ever made about the oceans.,

This review is from: Blue Planet: Music From BBC TV Series (Audio CD)
Well we have all see the documentary, an incredible collection of footage superbly narrated by the one and only David Attenborough. One of the things that made the series was the enigmatic and inspiring music by George Fenton. Some of the best from the series is on this CD, but alas there is much missing. Still, there is plenty to keep you going. If you enjoyed the series and loved the music then this is the CD for you.

Nice music, but where's the opening theme?,

I like the music, and I liked the program. Especially I liked the opening theme for the program, but that is not on this CD. Wouldn't you think that the program's main theme would make it to a CD of the soundtrack of the program?

Huge Disappointment,

The CD was a total disappointment. Most of the selections are so short (many less than 2 min) they sound like they were cut in the middle. The pieces that are extended just don't make up for the rest. George Fenton certainly is a genius (I have the BBC TV Series so I have heard how great he is) but this CD was a total waste of money and a ripoff.

Georges Fenton à son meilleur,
By Maxime Houle (Sainte-Foy, Quebec Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blue Planet: Music From BBC TV Series (Audio CD)
