Brought back so many wonderful memories of the 70's and the special person who introduced me to the music and the life I was meant to live.

I have had this collection in vinyl for years. Now when I play the cd over and over again it takes me back to hot fall days in Golden Gate Park and on-the-land music festivals in northern California. In other words certain songs are highly personal. The lyrics and harmonies on the title song, Blue Rider, are like being carried into a musical fantasy. The cello on Leviathan is beautiful and heartrending, making the song many cuts above most 'whale songs'. The song Peter Pan captures the spirit of that story which captures the spirit of this whole album.

A lot of the songs are embarrassing (like "Leviathan," which is mostly fun to listen to and laugh at) and/or crappy pop, but there are a couple of good ones--"Like an Island Rising" is certainly worth an iTunes download.

I can't believe I was suckered into this CD by the "People who ordered this also ordered that" recommendation! Come on! Was this recorded in someone's basement on their brother's KORG??? If it were biodegradeable or an animal could eat it, I would fling out the window while riding down the highway (but I DON'T litter)- it is virtually unlistenable. Can I get my money back for listening to Amazon? Probably not. Can I save someone else from the same fate- I really, really hope so.
