New mothers must have!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
I can't say enough about this mirror. This simple and tasteful mirror gets all positives in my book.1. It doesn't have any cartoon characters or wild colors. 2. It has two separate straps to use if you have a headrest on your vehicle's seats, otherwise, use the safety pin. I've done both depending on our vehicles. (We don't have leather, but if you do, you will need to secure it to the headrest with both straps.) 3. Peace of mind to be able to see your child in this full size mirror when he/she is rear facing. 4. My son can see himself too! I noticed other reviews questioning the safety of this item if you are involved in a crash. That is a good point that extends to everything in your vehicle including your purse, cds, pets, etc. I prefer to see my son, and set my mind at ease with a quick dart of the eyes, rather than try to turn around, or reach blindly to see if he's dropped his toy, etc. I would (and have) recommended this product to friends and family.

To address your safety concerns...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
I have been a State Trooper for 14 years and have investigated hundreds of motor vehicle collisions. It is correct that any loose objects within a vehicle's passenger compartment become potential projectiles in a crash. In my opinion, this item (which weighs less than a pound and is somewhat secure) is the least of your concern in a crash. Do you secure your 25 pound stroller or other baby gear. These would be much more dangerous. I have no problem using this item and will do so in the future.

A+++ Mirror,
By RoseMary Welch (Jennings, LA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
I love this mirror. I had previously purchased fisher-price mirror with the animals around it, and it was very blurry and too small to see my baby. The baby could not even see herself. I talked to a friend who purchased this one and I went and purchased one for myself. I love it. It's very big, so I can see my daughter, it was easy to install. And, the pattern is not babyish or a cartoon character that is easy to get tired of. As for the people who don't like it because of safety, if you're expecting, please wait to judge products until after you have a need for them. It's easy to judge until you are the one that cannot see your baby in the back seat, and this mirror makes it easier, I can just glance back and see clearly, if I did not have this mirror, I would be trying to turn my whole body around, which is even more dangerous. As a teacher, I have to give this product an A+.

About safety concerns...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
From the point of view of a California police officer or fireman or whoever else keeps popping up in these reviews, I can see where they might discourage the use of these types of mirrors. They are only looking at the possibility of a crash as a safety concern. But what of other safety concerns? Not being able to see your baby's face is, to me, quite a concern! What if your baby has gotten ahold of some dangerous item, or is choking on something?? (And don't tell me you know with 100% certainty absolutely everything within your child's reach... there are too many variables.) You'll never know in a noisy car if you can't take a peek now and then. And about your being "distracted" looking at your baby; please! What is more distracting, taking a quick peek at your baby's face once every few minutes or worrying because you haven't seen your baby's face in 20 minutes and you don't know if s/he has 1. turned blue 2. dug right into her messy diaper 3. found a Barbie shoe to play with... the list goes on. No one will convince me to keep my child out of my sight for extended periods in the name of "safety."

A good mirror,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
This is a nice product to have which really makes driving with my baby easier. Before, i was always twisting around at every red light to make sure he was OK. With this, all I have to do is angle my rearview mirror down a bit and I can see him fine. The attachment is a little weird, but I managed to work it out. I drive an SUV and his seat is in the middle, so I couldn't attach it to the headrest since there isn't one in the middle, which would be the easiest. Instead I use the velcro that comes with it. I wasn't all that thrilled on stabbing my upolstrey with the safety pin they give you, so i have it velcroed to the back of the backseat near the top. It seems to work ok. The size and clarity of this mirror is also very good.

Great Mirror for minivans,
By Kim (NJ, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
This is the best mirror on the market if you want to see your child without straining your eyes or having to turn around while driving. I cannot believe the difference between this mirror and the tiny little one I used for my first child. And as for the reviewer (who doesn't own the product but rated it poorly), if your child is coliky and screams for hours a day like mine does..... it's comforting to be able to look quickly and be sure that the baby is safe and not being hurt when the screaming occurs. ANY item in your vehicle becomes dangerous when you are involved in an accident! (the quarters on the dash for tolls, your cell phone for emergencies, your 6 year olds Barbie doll -etc.) It reassures me more to be able to view my child for the 99.9999% of the time that I hope to not be in an accident.

DON'T buy if you have leather seats!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
This item is basically useless if you have leather seats unless you want to ruin them and pin the mirror into the leather. I also tried attaching the mirror to the seat belt but it does not reflect high enough. This is a waste of money for me. I think it would work if you have headrests in your back seat (I know some cars do).

Works in our SUV!,
By
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
Our car does not have a middle headrest and we have leather seats, so if I had read these reviews first, I might not have registered for this mirror. I'm certainly glad that I have it now! My husband rigged it up on one of the side seat headrests without too much trouble and it works just fine. It is at a bit of an angle, but who cares as long as I can see my son? If your car is like mine, be prepared for some fiddling, but it will work. It's on there very securely and hasn't moved in the three months we've had it. I love being able to glimpse at my son when we are driving around, just to see how/what he is doing. A friend of mine doesn't have the mirror and she turns around at every stop to check on her son (we can't help it - we're first time moms). By the way, we were concerned about it becoming a projectile in a crash, but, when we had the carseat installation checked by our insurance company, they said it was secure enough and not to worry. Especially if it kept me from turning around in my seat every few minutes!

A MUST HAVE !,
By
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
I had purchased a smaller and a little more "chic" looking mirror, but I could barely see my baby in it. I then went for this big mirror and I just love it. It stays in place (I have an SUV) and I can see my entire baby as well as his car seat in it. Best of all, my 3 month old can also see me in it. I recommend it to all my pregnant friends.

A lifesaver,
By A Customer
This review is from: Baby In Sight Mirror (Baby Product)
My 3 month old son would cry every time I stopped the car. The only thing that saved me on my ride back and forth to work, was this mirror. He was so entertained just looking at himself. It was also great for my husband and I in our SUV, because it was the only way that we could see him. The basic pattern is also nice. The only other ones I've seen have Elmo or some other cartoon character wrapped around it. I give this gift at every baby shower.
