Editorial Reviews

One bad choice can change everything--forever. In the small town world of Jefferson Creek, North Carolina, star high school quarterback Danny Shepherd and his buddies are the golden boys who think they can get away with anything. When their simple-minded friend Aaron commits a violent crime, the boys vow to protect him by covering up evidence. Now, as they desperately struggle to keep the secret, their world begins to fall apart. Peter Facinelli stars in this tense look at loyalty pushed beyond all limits that will have you questioning just how far you would go to save a friend.

When Aaron reacts with violence to his father's domestic abuse, his friends are faced with the question "How far will you go to protect a friend". The boys make their decisions but through ill-chance and bad-decisions events quickly spiral out of control and no-ones life is going to be as it was.

Overall this film was watchable and the plot moved along well. The script is adequate but in no way great. All of the main characters were believable and you could easily empathize with the boys, however it suffered in that none of the characters was fully developed and the ending was, at best, ambiguous. I found the situation compelling but I had the feeling throughout that this could have been MUCH better with a stronger script.

Story about the difficult choice teenagers must often make between the rule of law, family loyalty, and the code of friendship.

Excellent cast and beautifully photographed. I loved it.

This was an excellent movie. It shows how one decision can cause events to quickly spiral out of control. That decision eventually affects everyone in the movie.
