5.0 out of 5 stars Union Strikes It Up Again!
As has been quoted in previous reviews, "no sophomore jinx here"! The debut CD was awesome in it's own and UNION has proved themselves true to the music with their sophomore release "The Blue Room". This is rock as it was meant to be! It's sad when we live in a time that allows such meaningless, rhythmic-less garbage on the airwaves and ignores...

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Enter The Blue Room
I must say that I was eagerly awaiting the new Union CD "The Blue Room", after hearing some advance clips on their website over the past couple weeks. I figured following their great debut would be difficult, but thought John & Bruce would build on their excellent sound, and give us even more depth. I was wrong. The first four tracks are good, no Love (I...

5.0 out of 5 stars Union Strikes It Up Again!, March 12, 2000

As has been quoted in previous reviews, "no sophomore jinx here"! The debut CD was awesome in it's own and UNION has proved themselves true to the music with their sophomore release "The Blue Room". This is rock as it was meant to be! It's sad when we live in a time that allows such meaningless, rhythmic-less garbage on the airwaves and ignores the REAL Deal.....UNION! Kulick and Corabi had a favor done for them when Kiss and Motley Crue reunited, as we may not have ever had the incredible, gut-wrenching, rock-n-roll like this to listen to had it not been for those bands reuniting......"The Blue Room"is plain and simply put...rock-n-roll as it was meant to be.......hard driving, gutsy, and every bit the best of the best! Buy it, play it, and sit back and enjoy.......you'll be glad you did!

5.0 out of 5 stars The ULTIMATE Revenge!, October 21, 2001

Two words -- Bruce Kulick! No "Strutting" required. Bruce pours his heart and soul into "The Blue Room." He offers the ultimate tribute to his "Dear Friend" with an incredible array of instruments including the voice of John Corabi (Corabi is the Scream and an Angel)! The song perfectly illustrates the vast spectrum of emotions that Kiss kept bottled up inside of this man... for too long. Now, Bruce "Shines." You will be "Hypnotized" from the opening notes to the last licks! Brent Fitz (yes, like a glove) (grin) shows his powerful stuff and Jamie Hunting is a class act! Union will grab you and never let you go! Check out "Live In The Galaxy," Union's incredible self-titled album, Bruce solo on "AudioDog" and don't forget the Bruce Kulick-produced "Rockology," showcasing the unparalleled gifts of Eric Carr... the thunder of the heavens with an angel's voice. Don't miss Bruce with Grand Funk Railroad! But, start with "The Blue Room" and you'll be mesmerized by the songwriting, musicianship and chemistry! Union will rock and roll you, seduce you and leave you begging for more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rock and Roll The Way It Should Be, March 2, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Blue Room (Audio CD)
Kulick and Corabi have something to be very proud of, it's called "The Blue Room". They have produced a winner. This CD is a classic! Union shows us what rock music is supposed to sound like. All those new bands out there now need to listen to this and learn what real music is all about. Every song is on the mark. "Who Do You Think You Are", "Do Your Own Thing" and "Hypnotized" will hook you immediately. "Dear Friend" Bruce Kulick's shining moment will grab your heart. If your a fan this CD is a must. If you've never heard of Union after giving this a listen you will be a fan. Guaranteed! John and Bruce prove rock music is very much alive and well in "The Blue Room"

4.0 out of 5 stars step into this room! 1, February 22, 2000

to say union isn't more than two rejects from bigger bands who formed a "supergroup" isn't saying enough, or hardly not any thing in particular. this cd far surpasses their debut cd from '98. it's a great rock record. pure and simple. the opening cut "do your own thing" shows that this band is doing just that. rocking and rolling like there should be no remorse for thick guitar sounds, thundering drums, feet shufflin' bass lines, and a voice that commands the music. no doubt about it, union taps into their influences ranging from the beatles, zepplin, cheap trick, and just about everything inbetween. bruce kulick attacks six strings with more emotion better than perhaps anything he played with kiss on. john corabi voice struts from the speakers as if he was about to jump straight into your room tatoo's and all. add the rythm section of jamie hunting and brent fritz pounding on their instruments with dare i say it... enjoyment. that is what this band is. rock n' roll enjoyment. lyrically this album touches on broad topics such as losing loved ones ("dear friend"), being yourself ("do your own thing"), and the world through parents eyes ("shine", "no more"). union escapes the sophomore slump, and ushers in the new decade with an album that says we rock... so what? step into this room! it will rock you house!

This is another great release from Union and love "Who do You Think You Are". I would have dedicated it to Gene, Paul, Nikki, Tommy, Vince and Mick in the liner notes. Along all the Crue fans who where A-holes to John. Because both bands let major talent get away. Just look how lame Motley Crue has been since Vince came back and Kiss isn't offering anything new. Unions songwriting is really good, no lame tunes and one of my favorite '90's band. The following songs are awesome: "Do Your Own Thing", "Dead", "Shine", "Who Do You Think You Are", "Dear Friend", "Do You Know My Name", "Hypnotized", and "No More". If you love a vocalist with a Bluesy edge can sing any range. Then your going to love John Corabi's style and will want to pick up his releases mentioned below. I think he's similar to Steven Tyler, but has his own Identity and it's too bad that he's so underrated. Definately, need to get all three of Union's releases and don't forget to get your hands on The Screams "Let It Scream" master piece. Plus you'll want to get the only Motley Crue CD worth owning. The S/T release featuring John on vocal & Rhythm Guitar and get the Bonus Tracks version.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Return of the Rock, July 13, 2000
This review is from: Blue Room (Audio CD)
In 1999 Union released their sophmore album, The Blue Room. It shows a complete step up from thier first album. The Blue Room shows growth both as a band and individual musicians. Bruce Kulick's guitar playing seems to be getting better with age and the rhythm section is also much tighter on this album. John Corabi is in my opinion one of the greatest most underrated frontmen in music. The one thing that is lacking on this album is the hardness in Corabi's voice that he used on the Motley Crue album. The songs on The Blue Room are amazing. The album opens with the powerful rocker and first single Do Your Own Thing. This album is full of hard rocking songs such as Dead, Who Do You Think You Are, Do You Know My Name, and Everything's Alright. The lyrics in Everything's Alright are intresting because they are Beatles songs. The Blue Room also has amazing songs that are on the mellower side such as Shine and I Wanna Be. The best song on the album is Dear Friend, Bruce Kulick's tribute to former Kiss drummer Eric Carr who died of cancer in 1991. I gave the album 4 stars due to the lack of hardness in John Corabi's voice. The album however is truly amazing. There really isn't a weak song on it. I suggest that everyone should buy it because I feel that Union could be important to the music world. Judging by the progress they made from their debut it seems as if the best is yet to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Rock, February 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Blue Room (Audio CD)
Good stuff, just hard rocking fun aor metal. It is terrible that good music like this will get no airplay while so much garbage is on the radio. If you liked the debut, I don't see how you couldn't like this-get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as Good As The First!, February 23, 2000
This review is from: Blue Room (Audio CD)
Yes this is it! Union Succeed again with their follow up to there 1998's self titled debut album. Man I have faith in this band. Union are the next big supergroup of the future. I picked up this CD 3 days before its official release and let me tell you it was worth the wait. Awesome! I can't say which album I enjoy better. This cd has more of a harder edge but there still those melodic tunes as well. My Faves are "Everything's Alright", (love the Beatle Titles as the chorus), Do Your Own Thing, and Bruce's tribute to The Late great Eric Carr "Dear Friend". This is straight forward honest rock what we have been missing for some years now. And maybe now Union will get their recognition they deserve. 5 stars++++ Buy It Today!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Union Album, June 1, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Blue Room (Audio CD)
The Union album "The Blue Room"is a classic Union album. The strongest song on this album is "Dear Friend",a tribute to the late KISS drummer Eric Carr, who died of cancer in 1991.Bruce Kulick sings lead vocals on it,and his guitar work on that song is his best guitar work on the album.Bruce also sings lead vocals on that song, and his lead vocals are really good.I like John Corabi's guitar playing and singing on this album.John's best work on this album with his guitar playing and singing is "Do Your Own Thing".So if You want a classic Union album,"The Blue Room"is the album You want.
