While living in Mississippi, my Illinois reared husband became enamored with his company cafeteria's red beans 'n rice. For 3 decades, I've been working to create the best. The best? Popeye's can't be beat!! Finally, I've found it on my own range. No, my NOLA daughter did. Blue Runner does it. Fix the rice. Warm up some pork. Open the can. Dilute and warm the contents. Combine. Comfort food, oh, oh, oh, comfort food. I use 1/2 cup white wine to dilute. (Cider could be interesting.) And I add two minced garlic cloves. I hear you can find Blue Runner locally if you live farther south in the South than we do now; but for me, Amazon is truly the greatest.

I spent about 5 years living in Alabama as a child, and these beans where a staple in my family's diet. My mom would cook sausage and onions and toss them in a stockpot with these beans and serve the meal over rice.

I was so excited to find them on Amazon, and I ordered a case. My fiance and I mix them with cooked ground turkey and onions and serve over rice. It's such an easy and satisfying meal! I haven't been able to find another brand that compares, and I'm so glad that these can be ordered online.

My mother's recipe takes hours to make and it makes a lot. (we use a hambone instead of sausage BTW) Blue Runner is as close to my mother's that I have ever had. I usually just add a little Tabasco to it along with some pieces of ham and the pour it over rice. Along with some French bread.....you have the perfect meal. I am Mississippi born and Louisiana bred and I have had lots of Red Beans and Rice. This is very very good.

These are the best beans and have been using them for years to make red beans and rice, which btw we had last night and gosh they were good, mmmmmmm. The price is half of what I used to pay from a another online supplier so with no tax and free shipping with 'Prime' , such a deal, can't believe I found these on Amazon.

I did a lot of research and Blue Runner lived up to it's reputation. It's not homemade red beans but in a pinch when you want some and don't have time to make them from scratch they are pretty good.

I got hooked on blue runner cream style red beans over rice when I was in college in New Orleans. With a little bit of smoked sausage, they're one of my favorite zero-effort dinners. In fact, they're almost as good as home-made with a fraction of the work involved in home made red beans. So, why wouldn't you love that? I now live in the pacific northwest and tried to get my local Albertsons grocery store to order them. They said no. So, no easy red beans for me for several years. Then one day it occurred to me that Amazon sold groceries now and might have these. I ordered a 12 pack and will probably order another one for this fall/winter too. It's silly, but for me it's a little bit of happiness in a can. Now, if I could only persuade the gumbo shop to can its jambalaya, I'd be super happy.

I can't find Blue Runner Creole Cream Style Red Beans in Chicago, but I bought them on a vacation and fell in love. Now I'm keeping a case on hand for easy dinners. I add smoked sausage and it is a fast and filling dinner for the whole family. Sure, the cans came slightly dented, but I expect that when a heavy box is delivered.

If you want to make the best New Orleans beans and rice than look no further. These are the only authentic beans in a can I ever found. They usually sell them in the south but since I am military I just have them shipped to my front door where ever I get stationed. These beans are so good you can eat them right out of the can. Take them camping. It makes a quick meal. I like to add sauted onions to mine that I heat on the stove. Rice makes a good addition to this dish. Buy a case and thank me later :-) You won't regret it.

These are cheaper than in the store! Use 2 cans of these beans, add one can rotel, one onion and 1 lbs kielbasa sausage and you have got a whole meal. These are the BEST red beans you can buy.
